And I think I’ve finally decided on my references for both of them. Dane Dehaan as Draco Malfoy is a non-brainer and will forever be my favorite. But how do you like Rami Malek-ish as Harry Potter? After seeing him in Papillon it was a done deal for me.

“You always knew he had something special in him and it was just a matter of time before it was going to make its way onto that stage or into the music. But early on, as he was, I think, struggling with his identity and sense of self, there’s still something burning inside of him which [he couldn’t] help but subdue. I wanted to make sure that, I guess gradually, you saw the evolution of that into the full glamour of Freddie Mercury.”

On shooting Queen’s iconic set at the 1985 Live Aid charity concert
It was the first thing we shot: Live Aid. Day one. We came out and it was that massive crane shot that goes through the audience and comes right up around the piano and opens to Freddie Mercury, myself playing him, singing “Bohemian Rhapsody. … Talk about a baptism by fire! I had never worked that hard in my life on one particular piece of filming.
Every day I spent hours with a movement teacher named Polly Bennett who helped me articulate all of Freddie’s movies from the '70s, how he evolved into the '80s. But we had to at some point just concentrate on recreating Live Aid. I always wanted to keep it very spontaneous, but at the same time, honor this fantastic performance that he and Queen gave. …
There are things he does with that microphone that defy what the mere mortal can do. He whips around with it with violence at times, with elegance he uses as the air guitar — sometimes, right in front of one of the greatest guitar players of all time, Brian May. So as Brian May is crushing it on guitar, here is Freddie Mercury air guitaring, and it’s still a magnificent thing to watch. It’s so compelling and only he could get away with that.
Y'all can gush about m night shyamalan all you want but the biggest plot twist I’ve ever witnessed is Ben stiller releasing some crusty mummy from a sarcophagus and it ending up being the fine ass Rami Malek
No, the biggest plot twist was that they actually cast an Egyptian to play an Egyptian character.
I will reblog this every time i see it

I think Rami Malek slayed as Freddie! He was over the top Fab! Loved every minute of it!
I'm glad I never pay attention to critics, and just go see what I'm interested in for myself. Otherwise, I'd miss out on some marvelous films!
