Tito Jackson, one of the brothers who made up the beloved pop group the Jackson 5, has died at age 70.

Tito was the third of nine Jackson children, which includes global superstars Michael and sister Janet, part of a music-making family whose songs are still beloved today.

“It’s with heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved father, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tito Jackson is no longer with us. We are shocked, saddened and heartbroken. Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their well-being,” his sons TJ, Taj and Taryll said in a statement posted on Instagram late Sunday.

Rudolph lsley, one of the founding members of the R&B group The lsley Brothers, has died, his family announced.

He was 84.

"There are no words to express my feelings and the love I have for my brother.

Our family will miss him. But I know he's in a better place,'' Ronald lsley, Rudolph's

brother and lsley Brother band co-founder, told CNN in a statement on Thursday.

A representative for The lsley Brothers told CNN that Rudolph died Wednesday. A cause of death was not immediately known.

A statement was released on Turner's verified Instagram account on Instagram, announcing the death of the legendary performer.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner. With her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow,” the statement read.

“Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music. All our heartfelt compassion goes out to her family. Tina, we will miss you dearly,” the statement continued.

Rolling Stone reported that a spokesperson for the late singer said Turner died “peacefully” at her home outside of Zurich, Switzerland, after battling “a long illness.”

Harry Belafonte, the singer, actor and wide-ranging activist, has died aged 96. The cause of death was congestive heart failure, his spokesman told the New York Times.

As well as performing global hits such as Day-O (The Banana Boat Song), winning a Tony award for acting and appearing in numerous feature films, Belafonte spent his life fighting for a variety of causes. He bankrolled numerous 1960s initiatives to bring civil rights to Black Americans; campaigned against poverty, apartheid and Aids in Africa; and supported leftwing political figures such as Cuba’s Fidel Castro and Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez.

Verdine described his brother as a “wonderful bro” who was “always entertaining and delightfully mischievious.”

Anita Pointer, one of the founding members of the R&B group The Pointer Sisters, has died at age 74, according to her publicist Roger Neal. Pointer passed away Saturday at her home in Los Angeles where she was surrounded by her family, Neal said in a statement to CNN. The cause of death was cancer, he said.

''While we are deeply saddened by the loss of Anita, we are comforted in knowing she is now with her daughter, Jada and her sisters June & Bonnie and at peace,'' Pointer's family said in a statement.

''Heaven is a more loving beautiful place with Anita there.''

''She was the one that kept all of us close and together for so long. Her love of our family will live on in each of us,'' the statement said, while also asking that the family's privacy be respected ''during this period of grief and loss.''

Rapper Coolio Has Died At Age 59

Coolio, who won a Grammy for his '90s rap hit "Gangsta's Paradise," reportedly died at a friend's house on Wednesday.

He collapsed at a friend's home Wednesday afternoon, his longtime manager told TMZ. Paramedics pronounced him dead after arriving at the scene. The official cause of death wasn't immediately available and his manager did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Bailey, co-lead singer of the genre-spanning band, said on Instagram that Woolfolk died after a six-year illness.

I love how insane animators were in the 30s. Some guy just burst into the Betty Boop studio like "Guys, I got an idea: Betty runs away from home and is tormented by skeletons and evil spirits." and someone replied "Ok, sounds swell. Should we score that with some spooky orchestral music? Pipe organs?" and the first guy said "No, I already have someone to do the music. It's Cab Calloway, one of the most popular blues artists of all time. And we're going to rotoscope a walrus ghost over him." and everyone nodded and got to work

Braxton died after a private battle with esophageal cancer, her husband Kevin Surratt said in a statement to People.

“We have come to a time where we must inform the public that after a year of privately undergoing a series of treatment for Esophageal cancer our beloved Traci Braxton has gone on to glory,” he said.

UB40 founding member Astro dies following short illness

British vocalist and founding member of UB40 Terence Wilson, better known by his stage name Astro, has died after a short illness, his current band confirmed.

"We are absolutely devastated and completely heartbroken to have to tell you that our beloved Astro has today passed away after a very short illness," a statement on Ali Campbell and Astro's Twitter account said on Saturday. "The world will never be the same without him."

Wilson was part of British reggae band UB40 for more than 30 years, before leaving the band to join breakaway group UB40 featuring Ali Campbell and Astro in 2013.

UB40 formed in Birmingham in the late 1970s, and over the next three decades found success with hits including "Red Red Wine" and "(I Can't Help) Falling In Love."

The band dealt with social and political issues head-on in their songs, giving voice to working class dissatisfaction with the status quo of the time.

The current iteration of UB40 also paid tribute to the musician, writing on Saturday: "We have heard tonight, the sad news that ex-member of UB40, Terence Wilson, better known as Astro, has passed away after a short illness. Our sincere condolences to his family."

Another of the band's founding members, Brian Travers, died of cancer in August at the age of 62.

Ronnie Wilson, founding member of R&B group The Gap Band, has died at the age of 73.

His passing was confirmed by his wife, Linda Boulware-Wilson, in a Facebook post published Tuesday.

"The love of my life was called home this morning, at 10:01am. Please continue to pray for The Wilson, Boulware, and Collins family, while we mourn his passing," she wrote.

"Ronnie Wilson was a genius with creating, producing, and playing the flugelhorn, Trumpet, keyboards, and singing music, from childhood to his early seventies. He will be truly missed!!!"

The group rose to fame in the late 1970s and early 1980s, opening for bands such as The Rolling Stones.

Their best-known songs include "You Dropped a Bomb on Me," "Party Train" and "Burn Rubber on Me.
