terfs in the discourse tag

We have terfs who admit that ace discourse was their first step towards radfem ideas. We’ve had multiple break downs of how terfs and radfems try to radialize other people by using ace/bi/pan/nb/queer/etc. discourse. We’ve had multiple break downs of how popular exclusionist arguments use the same faulty logic and arguments that radfems use.

Can exclusionists maybe finally admit that this is a problem and either drop the discourse entirely or try to come up with arguments that aren’t copied from radfems?

This is really important to recognize, because exclusionists don’t often want to recognize this dirty little truth about their community.

note how the “queer is (always) a slur (and should never be used, even to talk about yourself or the queer community or queer academia)” nonsense is directly mentioned as point 2 on the aphobe to TERF pipeline

look up where demisexuality actually originated from hint: it was created as a joke + the creator actually apologised for bringing it onto tumblr

Honey. I mean this with all respect and love: I do not care.

Sometimes a joke turns out to be real. I know several demisexuals and demiromantics who are quite happy with that label and, regardless of its origination, it is as real as they are.

The anon is factually inaccurate (and thank you @angry-acehole-for-positivity for a magnificent response here). The AVEN member who popularised it was user “sonofzeal” on tumblr (I repeat, an AVEN member), who used it to reflect on his own experiences. I even tracked down one of the original posts:

And the silly thing is... who gives a flying fuck where it came from, really, if it accurately represents somebody’s experiences. It’s a word, and I found so much peace from it. I don’t care if it was created as a joke, or as an idea, or as something silly: it’s a word, and it describes my own experiences, as well as that of many others.

Language develops, communities develop, the origin of a word is functionally irrelevant if it is accurate and harms nobody.

I'm going to be honest and say I didn't know this, so thank you!

Absolute pleasure - sorry, I’m a nerd and hate misinformation, hence jumping on; you did a fantastic job of replying in the first place, thank you for fighting the good fight against aphobes lol!!

You're always welcome to add nerdy information! 😄

jessica rabbit is literally a sex symbol though she can't be asexual?

she is in romo with a rabbit because he makes her laugh and aside from using her looks to get things out of people she literally never once shows interest in anything or anyone sexually through the entire movie and is clearly appalled when anyone makes advances towards her like there is canonical evidence that jessica rabbit from the classic motion picture who framed rogger rabbit is an asexual character

I am here as fuck for this. Jessica Rabbit for new asexual icon.

“She can’t be asexual because she’s hot tho”

“I can only see her as a sexual object so I can’t imagine her not wanting to have sex with me.”

I’ve always remembered the line “I’m not bad, I’m just drawn that way” as Jessica’s admission that while sexualized, she isn’t inherently a sexual entity.

I mean hell, literally, her line before is “You don’t know how hard it is being a woman looking the way I do.”, to which Eddie responds; “You don’t know how hard it is being a man looking at a woman looking the way you do.”

I think that’s pretty damning evidence to her asexuality. The whole plot point with Jessica is how everyone is either convinced she’s sleeping with every human and toon around, or why does she stay faithful to Roger.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit does a great job at satirizing Hollywood/American culture and ideals when it comes to appearances. It also does a great job at hiding some really well thought out challenges to how we look at others in plain sight.

I completely believe that Jessica Rabbit is an asexual romantic (hetero/bi/pan/etc not sure, and to be honest, I don’t know if that part is important, as she’s married to the toon she loves).

I LOVE this headcanon <3

This is important!

This headcanon is just so perfect I had to draw it
