Okay I really don’t want to sound rude or anything but usually I‘d ignore and simply delete an ask like that (even though I‘m flattered that you like those pieces. And I have to admit that I‘m kinda proud of the fanart for Kate’s fic in particular) but… in these last 2 days- since I answered that one ask where I explained why I‘m happy with my new art- I got quite a lot asks like this one. I’m not sure if this is only one person doing this or more than one person who simply agreed (which is fine, really!) but please, for the love of god, PLEASE STOP IT. I feel like some of these anons don’t even mean it in a rude or harmful way but it does hurt. Please try to understand that.
I‘m honestly not even sure what’s worse, this or plain anon hate. Because the hate I can handle. But this… this kinda makes me doubt my art and the process of years trying to figure out my own style. And that combined with some stress that I have irl at the moment (because this week has been a lot to say the least) just makes me feel really upset if I‘m being honest rn.
Once again: it‘s totally fine to prefer my older art, I respect your opinion but I‘m begging you (and everyone who’s reading this right now who might agree with that anon) DO NOT send me an ask to tell me that. Just keep it to yourself. Thank you.
hi there anon, if you’re that set on getting art done in a certain style, you can 1) pay someone to draw that way for you; 2) learn to do it yourself and produce whatever you want to your little heart’s content.
nobody has any right to demand anything from artists/writers. taste and style are all completely subjective, and telling someone that the way they choose to create isn’t what you prefer is so stupidly selfish i can’t even comprehend where it comes from.
