Tells him about Wei Wuxian. Talks to her for comfort - or just to cry - during the sixteen years he’s alone. Tells her about Sizhui.

I also think that he’d start out his conversations addressing her with “A-Niang” but then would slip into the more informal and intimate “Mama” down the line.

Notes: One of the really confusing things about MDZS/The Untamed is that each character, especially our main ones, have several names. Every one is given a name by birth, but when they are fifteen (the general consensus), they also receive a courtesy name, which is what they are referred to as. Titles are also given out later. I’ll be listing them all with references!

Birth Name: Wei Ying (魏婴), Title: Yiling Patriarch (夷陵老祖)

He’s our main protagonist and we mostly follow his perspective!

Birthname: Lan Zhan (蓝湛), Title: Hanguang-Jun (含光君)

The close partner of Wei Wu Xian, younger brother of Lan Xi Chen, one half of the Twin Jade of Gusu Lan.

(Better known as) Birth Name: Jiang Cheng (江澄), Title: Sandu Shengshou (三毒圣手)

Sect Leader of Yunmeng Jiang, uncle to Jin Ling. Shares a really complicated relationship with our protagonist, and is an angry purple birb.

(Better known as) Birth Name: Jin Ling (金凌)

Nephew to Jiang Cheng, heir to Lanling Jin. Is also known as Jin Mistress by some of the characters for his spoilt temperament.

Birth Name: Lan Yuan (蓝愿)

An actual cinnamon roll.

The most un-Lan in the history of Lans. Chicken Lover.

(Better known as) Birth Name: Wen Ning (温宁), Title: Ghost General (鬼将军)

A fierce corpse. A very not fierce cinnamon roll.

Birth Name: Lan Huan (蓝涣), Title: Zewu-Jun (泽芜君)

Sect Leader of Gusu Lan, older brother to Lan Wang Ji. Part of the Venerated Triad. Too good for this world.

Birth Name: Meng Yao (孟瑶), Title: Lianfang-zun (敛芳尊)

Sect Leader of Lanling Jin, illegitimate son to Jin Guang Shan. Blessed with Dimples of Death in the live-action.

Title: Head-Shaker (一问三不知)

Sect Leader of Qinghe Nie, younger brother of Nie Ming Jue. More than what meets the eye, evidently.
