This is only our second sighting of a reused item from the silent era - the other being a costume from the 1922 Lorna Doone.
inspired by the boat in the “Grotto of Venus” scene from the opera “Tannhauser”. On its bow, there are two boiseries with images from Boucher’s “Cupid’s Target”.
Bed made for Gaby Deslys, a famous French actress, singer, and dancer.

This is amazing- it’s a former Victorian school building in Chicago that was converted to a modern industrial style home. You won’t believe what it looks like inside.
Nine skylights were installed and strategically placed to saturate dark portions of the house with sunlight.
Salvaged wood caps on colorfully painted drywall walls add brightness and splashes of color to an artfully composed stair atrium.
This atrium is spectacular, isn’t it?

Funky Junk blogger Donna, from Canada, is the queen of DIY decor and recycling. Her rustic home is loaded with all of her wonderful creations.
This how a home could look with recycled furniture & refurbished junk items created with your own hands.
“I call my style ‘elegant country’” Donna says. “It’s a mix of recycled wood, metal, natural elements like rocks and plants and also some rust.”
She draws most of the ideas for her works from her imagination.
Now, she’s not afraid to try whatever she thinks up. Isn’t this adorable?
She suggests to anyone who wants to design their home not to be afraid of anything.
Of course she made and upcycled this kitchen island that doubles as a table.
She made these stairs out of pallets. As you see, if you look closely, they’re just added to the tops of the existing stairs.
A rusty garden gate above the headboard, which is an old door.
I like this idea- a rusty headboard with mirrors in front of it.
Storage creation from an old crate, rusty license plates and some sort of saw blade.
She used an old sign behind her son’s bed.
Even though there are windows, she placed a shelving unit in the space and place her desk in front of it. The desk is a simple old door resting on saw horses and a ladder.
An old meat grinder mounts to the side of the desk and conveniently holds pencils.
Last summer’s “save the shed” project. It turned out great. For a plethora of ideas check out her blog.
Calling the Goths! I have posted tiny houses and cottages, but never one like this. It’s a little gothic mini mansion.
The Gothic Victorian Mini Mansion is hand built with reclaimed and vintage materials, a Mansard roof, a tower and Emmet the gargoyle guard to keep watch!
The Great Room of the Gothic Victorian is a blend of plush, regal and cozy. Relax and play the piano, sip a glass of wine or a cup of tea.
The kitchen is large enough to entertain, and has dishes and glassware for 8.
The kitchen has reclaimed quartz counters, a full-sized fridge and sink.
The antique sofa and chairs are red velvet and quite sumptuous!
The antique, brass fireplace glows with flickering, remote controlled candles, and the custom sliding door leads to the full bath.
Take a bath in the cast iron, claw-foot tub!
A copper sink and quartz counter.
The “tower” adds a large entryway, with hooks for garments, and a round, stained glass window.
The Gothic Victorian living room from the loft.
There is room in the loft for storage.
The bedroom loft is over 6 feet tall!
The custom stairs are behind the fireplace doors, under a carved, brass chandelier.
The alternating stairs make an easy access to the loft bedroom.
Drapes can be opened to enclose the entire loft, creating a private, Gothic cocoon!
The candles in their candelabras create just the right mood!
The Gothic Victorian takes architectural cues from the late 1800s and has to be one of the best recycled tiny houses I’ve seen.
OMFG

I didn’t know vampires were getting into the tiny house movement.
