Troopers jumping on droids!
- PT: Revenge of the Sith
8/10 — Hoppy-hoppy action like a pro, rides that bucking bronco, strong finish with an impressive death-dealing follow-through! (But a bit derivative…)
- TCW: S3E20 Citadel Rescue
10/10 — Bonus points for Cody being my fave! Leaps on with total confidence and just flattens that fucker, powerful thighs confirmed with the impressive display of balance throughout, delightfully cocky hop off for the dismount! (Clearly also the inspiration for the 212th trooper’s efforts above …his subordinates all aspire to someday be as badass as their commander)
- TCW: S2E13 Voyage of Temptation
9/10 — Rex does everything with flair and this is no exception! Solid boot plant on the head, dramatic camera up-shot, gracefully swishing skirt, magnificent dual blaster action makes this an A+ addition (two points deducted since droid already took a flying lightsaber to the face/legs so Rex has an advantage going in, one point added back to his score for the truly adorable little look back over his shoulder to make sure he had a properly attentive audience for his badass heroics…)
And of course, my personal favorite….
- TCW: S2E9 Grievous Intrigue
38/10 — WTF Cody you absolute maniac, all else fails, sure, just flying tackle Grievous, problem-solving-skills for the win…that gratuitous but amazingly badass kick off the wall to get him enough height to climb that ridiculously tall bantha-fucker for an overhead tackle, the other two equally-crazy 212th troopers who are just waiting for their chance and dogpile on right after their insane commander, and then, of course, this icon of perfection just punches General Grievous right in his stupid, metal FACE. Impeccable.
COMMANDER CODY IS FLAWLESS IN EVERY WAY.
What I really want to know is–did they learn this from the Jedi? or did the Jedi learn it from them? or did they evolve in parallel with each other? BECAUSE ABSOLUTELY THIS IS WHAT THEIR RIDICULOUS JEDI DO:
Your insightful observation prompted me to take another look and I found several more instances to bolster the theory that this is indeed an overlapping trait shared between the two groups! Jedi and clones, clones and Jedi, both seem to greatly enjoy jumping on droids, much like a mighty housecat stalking and pouncing upon its rightful prey.
Based on my initial findings, this behavior seems to be even more widespread than one might think.
It crosses multiple generations!
It even survived the activation of the clone chips and the destruction of the Jedi Order itself to pass into the generation beyond!
But when did this quirk of nature first evolve?
What could be the origin of such a playfully deadly maneuver?
How could it be so widespread across so many Jedi and clones of differing ages and experiences?
Who could have…
…
…who?
…
Who???
…
…
…
Oh.
Yeah, that tracks.
