I'm a fan of Code Geass so I'm glad to find sites like these. It makes me think the Code Geass fanbase is still going strong. How does it feel for you about the Code Geass movies remaking the series with some changes? Are you disappointed about them or just think it's alright.

The answer to this came out way, way longer than I expected. Lots of rambling below! I've also been facing a technical issue with Asks, so I'm sorry for the late reply.

I like to think that Code Geass is good enough an anime to garner interest even now. Fans do exist even if activity is not that consistent (myself very much included.) The fanbase does have some fluctuating activity, and I see lots and lots of wonderful fanart nowadays!

I’ve yet to find an anime I love more than Code Geass. Although I watched it very recently, probably months before said alternate timeline movies were released. I didn’t quite understand what they were getting at with the whole ‘season 3′ thing.

I’m going to start by saying, quality of both anime and movie notwithstanding, it was a very well-thought decision to make an alternate timeline. Don’t want to accept the end of canon? Movies are for you! Not a fan of the movies? Stick with the anime! The audience is given a choice

But the statement stands regardless of whether or not the movies are good. Now, if we actually consider the production of the movies, my opinion very much changes.

So, do I like the new movies? Above all, I am a fan of Re;surrection?

The answer is No

Now, why is that?

Imagine Code Geass with language borders. The sheer power of this premise is all at once awesome and frightening.

Elevens being forced to learn and speak English. Given Britannia's severe control, they definitely wouldn't allow anyone to speak Japanese, and would also have problems with Elevens speaking weak English. And just as easily as they took over the military and resources, they took over the education system, too. Not only is everything strictly taught in English, students also have to be taught in depth about Britannia's literature.

Suzaku teaches Lelouch and Nunnally Japanese when they arrive to Japan. Lelouch picks it up very quickly, and continues teaching Nunnally even after they are separated from Suzaku. Lelouch would surely detest his mother tongue, since it is one more thing about the homeland that betrayed him. He hates having to speak English in school and always speaks Japanese at home with Sayoko and Nunnally, much more comfortable to speak in that language.

Suzaku would also learn English, and would perfect it to the last letter. It is an obligation as an honorary Britannian, no doubt, but he also does it out of free will. Everyone assumes an Eleven would be no match to Britannians when it comes to language, but Suzaku shocks everyone with how strong his English is.

Bilingual Kallen! She'd learn the two languages from her parents, but, just like choosing the surname Kouzuki, she'd be more clad to Japanese. Her English is good, but she only uses it when absolutely necessary.

Suzaku and Kallen arguing in English and Japanese respectively. They understand each other and they hate it, because each one of them is using a language for different ideals! Kallen would shoot an old Japanese proverb and Suzaku would freeze, because no matter how hard he denies it his Japanese will always be richer than his English, simply because it's who he is.

Euphemia learns Japanese to sympathise with the people, although Cornelia is not fond of that. Schneizel is a little bit intrigued by the language, but only learns it for beneficial purposes, like luring the Japanese into believing they are truly heard.

And the best thing: everyone being absolutely confused as to what the hell Zero's nationality is. He speaks Japanese perfectly, mastering the rolls and vowels like a native speaker. When he reveals he's not Japanese the blow is even worse. He'd give public speeches in Japanese as to strengthen the Japanese voice, but would speak to Britannians in English and everyone is even more confused because he also sounds like a native English speaker. Even the Britannians are shocked. Then they go to the Chinese Federation and Xingke or the Eunuchs would know sufficient English to communicate but Zero replies in Chinese and even that language is spoken perfectly by him and everyone is like what the hell, Zero? How many damn languages do you speak and how do you sound like a native speaker in each?

Code Geass with language borders is the peak of awesome!

Code Geass with language borders, part 2! Since everyone seemed to love part 1 so much.

C.C. knowing dead languages! Understanding ancient texts and translating them, a talent which no one can fathom, yet Lelouch very much admires, and not just because it can get handy at times.

Lelouch himself might be familiar with Latin. Bonus: he and C.C. choose to argue in that language to make use of the highly specific terminologies. Extra bonus: the Black Knights turn Zero's linguistic abilities into a drinking game—one shot everytime he switches languages, two shots if he switches to a language no one knew he could speak.

Multilingual Mao! C.C. teaching him a few of the languages she knows to give him something to fixate on, to help his head find relief. Memorising proverbs and poems in other languages really helps Mao, and just about any activity with C.C. makes him very happy. They'd mainly communicate in Chinese, which Mao would use as leverage against Lelouch, since it's one more special thing between him and C.C. that Lelouch can't interfere with. Of course, Lelouch shoots him with a "I wouldn't be sure about that" in perfect Chinese and Mao loses it.

Rolo being taught Japanese before being sent to Lelouch, with prior knowledge of how Lelouch speaks Japanese at home. He learns it fairly quickly, but makes a little blunder every now and then. Lelouch takes it upon himself to strengthen Rolo's Japanese, teaching him more kanji and proverbs. Countless nights in front of textbooks, and Lelouch being a sweet and patient mentor, are very special to Rolo.

Tianzi not knowing any language other than Chinese, as she has never had a chance to communicate with people outside of the Chinese Federation. Xingke, who knows a couple of languages himself, teaches her whenever he can, and promises her she will use those languages to communicate with people outside one day.

Gino deciding to learn Japanese from Suzaku. He has no particular reason to learn it and probably just does it for fun, and because he's tired of only speaking English. Anya joins in, out of boredom. Suzaku is not used to Japanese anymore, especially since he became a Knight of the Round, and at first finds indulging in the language again surprisingly saddening, as it reminds him of the times before the war and him teaching Lelouch Japanese as kids.

Code Geass R2 remake

Can I have a Lelouch who realizes that something is wrong when he meets Rolo but he can't put his finger on it? And from there he decides to test things out like surveillance and stuff like that. He knows his friend Suzaku is high up on the military branch now, so it would only be right that he's busy right? So Lelouch does the only thing he knows that will get anyone noticing him: exercise. That makes Suzaku run to him fast and Lelouch knows something is wrong now.

So now he keeps up the charade and actually ends up being pretty good at kick boxing 👌 and Suzaku is baffled the entire time cuz Lelouch totally doesn't have his memories back but is acting in a completely different manner.

Then while Lelouch is with his personal trainer, C.C causes a blackout in the area he's in and restores his memory, but this time he's prepared.

He turns Rolo and Viletta to his side and this time he's smart about his moves. He slowly turns Suzaku away from his duties while he's building up the Black Knights. Resources take time, and Lelouch uses them to find out what his father is doing. He plans for the future, without Nunnally due to the fact that if he succeeds, she will follow. It's her big brother of course he's been a little bitch but once he tells her the plan, she's in.

He finally strikes and he uses his Geass on his father and kills his mother. He controls his father to obtain V.V and then capture and detain him. Then he brings in Suzaku, who kinda figured out that Lelouch had his memories but didn't say anything.

The plan is that Lelouch becomes emperor by decree of his father, who apparently leaves and never comes back. Of course his siblings fight him but with Nunnally on one side and Suzaku on the other, with Rolo next to Nunna, they make a striking family.

He gives Japan back, does the whole UFN/UNF (I can't remember how it's spelled) and then he takes over C.C's code. He becomes immortal and then gives Suzaku a Geass so he can take V.V's code because Suzaku is the only one he can trust to do that.

Eventually he'll let Nunnally rule with Schen.'s help because holy hell the world is peaceful and 'retires', going around the world to destroy any lingering Geass stuff.

Code Geass/Fate

What if the royals had this ritual where they call forth a hero as their first 'knight' or protector? But only born royals, not the ones married into royalty?

Imagine lelouch and nunnally doing the ritual, who did they get?
