Hello yes I would like to hear more about Cody and younglings on Ilum and Adi living please :)
Hehe, Cody and the younglings is one of my favorite concepts. So I’m working on a few connected one-shots in which Palps died and the Clones got folded into the Order. Cody taking care of Jedi kids 20 years after the war and telling them stories is basically just an excuse to showcase Jedi-Clone culture as it could have been ^^
Cody rolled over and threw an arm over his eyes, sighing. (...) Obi-Wan chuckled.
"Laziness doesn't become you. Come on, I need someone to take Clan Krayt to Ilum. The Padawan scheduled to accompany them just got called away."
Cody let his arm slide off his face and turned his head to show Obi-Wan the full extent of his horrified outrage.
"That's why you're waking me up? Not a chance. I'm retired."
Obi-Wan leaned against the doorframe and crossed his arms, quirking an eyebrow.
"Are you? You're still on the duty roster, last I checked. I thought you didn't believe in well earned rest."
It wouldn’t do to throw a datapad in a Councillor’s face, but it still felt quite tempting.
"Today I believe in warmth, caf, and a few boring hours spent reading the junior Knights’ latest mission reports. Send Katooni.”
It’s all 100% gen and happy family fluff, and I really should get around finishing it x)
Adi Lives is just me needing the universe to be ever so slightly less awful to my Jedi. Obi-Wan cuts off Savage’s head before he can kill her, gets Adi to the healers for the horn wounds, and then lots of cuddles with Stass ensue because I love the Tholothian cousins!! It’s just angst/whump galore and Obi-Wan being the other Councillor’s favorite kid.
There wasn’t a Knight or Master that wasn’t pushed to their absolute limit from all this, forced to scour the Force continually in search of an endurance and a hope that kept getting slimmer and more elusive.
But the Jedi were children of the Force and it was they greatest friend, or so they believed with every fiber of their beings. They trusted in the Force. The Force, in the impenetrable depths of its Will – its diffuse, incomprehensible sentience that encompassed everything and everyone everywhere and everywhen – was a trustworthy ally. In the midst of all the confusion and the blindness brought upon by the ones that sought to dominate it rather than serve, it still reached down to its faithful children.
This time, this once, the Jedi would win.

Have you read the poem "Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep" by Mary Elizabeth Frye? I feel that it really captures the "There is no Death, there is the Force" aspect of Jedi philosophy.
I have!! It was my favorite poem for years! I even knew it by heart. In true Fanfiction.net user fashion, I discovered it reading Tolkien fics x) I’m pretty sure it was for a Silmarillion fic.

I agree, it works really well with Jedi philosophy, especially considering how we see Qui-Gon interacting with the world in TCW s6. He’s literally the fireflies and the wind. It’s really in line with the almost pantheistic nature of the Force. Ah ah, now I might have to sneak that poem into one of my WIPs xD

🌻(1/2) I was thinking about the technological progression from ATLA to Korra (which really isn't that drastic or impossibly fast compared to actual history, especially considering bending) and I thought about what kinds of inventions would probably be invented in the Gaang's lifetime. By the time they hit old age they'd probably see the very beginnings of electricity-based power and maybe rudimentary telecommunications.
🌻 (2/2) They also probably have phonographs, and that realization immediately hit me over the head with 'Izumi asks her dad record the songs and stories he sang and read to her as a kid so she won't lose his voice after he's gone' and now I'm dead.

This means the gaang are going to be those adults who are baffled by technology. Some of them would be on top of it - like Sokka probably had a hand in said technology, but he’d definitely go on long “back in MY day rants.” Though said rants would be wild.
“Back in my day, we didn’t have cars! We flew around on a sky bison, even though the Fire Nation kept launching flaming catapults at us. And when he got kidnapped, we walked through the desert all the way to Ba Sing Se, hopped up on cactus juice.”

Just. All of zuko's alarming facts. No context. Just the fact. What led up to this, what happened, the conclusion?
What did you get up to zuko? Its all the weird facts that he did while chasing the avatar, when he was with the avatar, THEIR versions of what happened, the locals versions of what happened.
Also his alarming childhood facts that still alarm his uncle to this day.
Everyone is piling and comparing random zuko facts bc how did he live and still be a moral and honorable person who lived in his family and became fire lord?

So like I've been going thru the whole Bnha/ATLA swap tag and I saw the whole language barrier "todoroki talks in slang whilst Zuko talks super formal" and I just Zuko: What art thee talking about? this is how i speaketh n'rmally? 1-A: wat? alternatively; Todoroki: Yall'D'Ve Gaang: *crying* WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?
Weren’t we also talking about how Zuko’s vocal blurs cultural and socioeconomic lines? So Zuko is full of ol’ timey slang that 1A still can’t understand
