For an actually good Kirby movie idea that still has the mandated "relatable real person": Kirby's clash with Eifilis (which takes place on Shiver Star) causes Kirby to be sent back in time to when Earth was Earth, leading to Kirby making friends with a struggling autistic kid. Kirby, wanting to make sure his new friend stays alive, brings him into the future... Unfortunately, this kid was important to the future of Kirby, being the basis of Zero's negative energy, so Kirby is faced with a dilemma: fix his present, and cause the kid to suffer, or sit in an unfamiliar future, with a friend whose no longer in pain.
Ooh, I think you've got something GOOD going here! In combination with @newthinkerer’s “Kirby movies by decade” this feels like a movie plot that really could have happened! (Give or take the use of the Forgotten Land and Elfilis as major plot points, which would otherwise necessitate it as a “newish” thing.)
Now, I'm a child of the 80s >w> so I can easily envision this as an undiscovered 2D animated movie of that era, in the vein of like, the Rainbow Brite movie, that ends up with surprising amounts of heart despite also playing a little fast and loose with canon! (And experiences a revival in light of the terrible Hollywood Kirby! XD)
It would probably also have a weirdly catchy earworm of an ending song that would have the hardcores combing through used stores and internet archives trying to find the cleanest rip of... (COUGH)
Listen half these lyrics sound like they COULD come from a Kirby movie!!

I’m of two minds.
I would say my main argument against using Adeleine for THIS is that, as a big Adeleine fan, I’m hesitant to see her worked into the “ingenue in distress” role! I’m a fan of her character (thin as it is, officially) which is why I try to be careful in my own use of her.

You feel it inside you. Inescapable.
Not the Siren's Call. It is the whole ocean.
You never slept well. Now, you do not sleep at all. Your body no longer tires. It does not need to eat. A blessing you had once prayed fervently for to a god you did not believe in. You do not feel the fleeting touch of divinity on your mottled, withered skin.
Nor do you feel an absence. For something is filling you, occupying you as quickly as it can squeeze what remains out from your gasping mouth with long, dark tendrils. It is cold. It is suffocating. And it is mercilessly alien. So alien that you find yourself forgetting to respond to your little sister when she calls your name.
What is your name?
Dark.
No. That is not your name.
That is an old meaning for an old word. What you are now is old too. Old and New. New as a bright-eyed tenant seeing possibilities instead of plaster. Old as the birth of the stars. But stars are not as comforting to be as they were to behold, glimmering far, far above on those long nights you spent hugging the burnished steel of the rooftop's slipshod railing till your curled fingers began to freeze around the bar and you had to pull hard to free them.
You pull this time. You do not come free.
You toyed with the darkness one too many times. The icy trap has decided it will relinquish you your freedom no more. Panic surges hot in you. Hot enough to melt ice. Not enough to melt metal.
Matter.
That is not your name.
That is being. (That is value.) What all living things are. (What all living things have.) What you knew yourself to be and what you feel slipping through your grasp. (What you knew yourself to have, at one time, only because you were always holding your hands out to parcel it out till there was nothing left.) What you feel yourself being robbed of. (Robbed of even your hands, now. They give and receive no warmth. How much was left to give?) How much would it take?
"...Have me then!" you want to scream yourself raw at the nothing inside. "Take my body! I never wanted this damned thing anyway!" You lie your fear away, sobbing like a child at haunted memories that continue to stain the waters around the increasingly small island inside you called human. "As long as you release me...!"
But the thing only shakes its head, a dark mane of cold fire flickering. It has you at its mercy. But the night star is not all powerful. You see in the vortex of its baleful eye that it cannot live fully on its own. It encroaches. It conquers. It does not eradicate.
Eradication is death.
And it needs some part of you to stay alive. A molten core to crust over, buried a dozen layers deep.
Swordsman.
That is not your name. But that is its name. And you will never be free of it again.
my opinions on what a hypothetical kirby movie would/should be like are very mixed but i think objectively the funniest possible outcome for this type of situation would be for a minecraft movie-esque scenario to go down in which the movie is so horrendous that everyone that previously hated kirby right back at ya is forced to apologize to it.
My thought was go all the way with the comparisons and have a bunch of live-action humans accidentally wander into the Kirby-verse armed with nothing but sassy commentary about how we~ird and “just like a video game!” everything is.
Bonus if the only Kirby mains to appear are Kirby and Dedede. No Bandanna Waddle Dee. Not EVEN Meta Knight. One of the humans will be a dark-haired girl with a hat named… “Tiffanny”…but her middle initial will be “A” just to be even more confusingly annoying. Tiffaleine will secretly be the princess of Dream Land who was exiled as a baby by King Dedede and the reason everyone got sucked into the game world.
…I could go on but I think I’ll just upset myself XD

Dedede and Meta Knight-wannabes as human government agents…
…Okay, that’s it. One of the humans who gets transported to Dream Land in my “pitch” (lol) is now secretly Meta Knight, Princess Tiffaleine’s guardian who saved her as a baby and has been watching over her since.
Meta Knight is totally a human guy (and played by Chris Pratt) while Kirby is still a bad CG creation. He’ll still teach him how to use his “Dream Guardian” powers late in the movie. Then have a noble sacrifice but it’s okay, he somehow made it. (Saved by the dialogueless Waddle Dees.)
The other two humans are just randos. They feel like they could be vaguely inspired by Susie and Taranza but not in a good or meaningful way. (Just in that one is a snobby, screechy woman who keeps making bad decisions and having to be chewed out for it by Meta Knight and the other is a bookish poc comic relief stereotype who is always complaining about how unlucky he is in love. Which is totally irrelevant to the plot of the movie but keeps getting brought up for some reason.)
I don't know if this was always mentioned, but I personally headcannon Daroach, being the charming gentleman thief he is, likes to playfully flirt with Susie from time to time. Either to steal something from her, or just to mess with her.
Gentleman thief vs Business woman just seems like a fun dynamic to play with!

Yes, I think they have a potentially wonderful dynamic and ought to interact WAY more than they do! Red and Pink. Grey and White. Rich business woman and literal RAT MAN. (Both "ice" themed too.)
...Not to mention that before she was a CEO, Susie fashioned herself as a "corporate spy" working against her father! Spy vs Thief, anyone? She may know some tricks of her own from that particular skillset! And boy, wouldn't THAT be a fun conversation to listen in on!
(And yet you can see how they would have completely different outtakes on life, too! Business and order versus the free life of a phantom thief! A woman who is always looking centuries forward technology-wise vs a rat man who acts and dresses like he's from an 18th century crime novel, including fantasy steampunk tech.)
Now, I'm one of the odd ones who sees *most* of the cast as adults, including those that others don't (it's a personal attachment / investment + wanting to see more spectrum-coded adults in fiction thing) but I can appreciate the fun of having the ones who feel the most "inarguably adult" have a little playful "strictly business" flirting!

Not that the ask was specifically about shipping as much as simply how Daroach talks to her (and lets be honest, guy probably flirts w/ MOST people) but when it comes to actual -interest-/sexuality HC, I enjoy me some (Dark) Metaroach and ZanSusie, but those two are at LEAST bi! I feel they can have a little ship tease!/lh

Edit: Right as I was sending this post to the queue, my brain whispered “Why do they need to be messing with EACH OTHER when they could COOPERATE?” And floated me a mental picture of some one-shot evil corporation that Daroach and Susie have BOTH infiltrated separately (in disguise) to get dirt on, only to run into each other, recognize each other, and are encouraged to cooperate to get what they need!

This is a really silly question but do you have any like small irrelevant (and fun) Marx headcanons that ultimately mean nothing in the grand scheme of things but bring you joy? Idk why but I’m dying to know!!! Love your art btw!
Low Stakes + Fun Marx HC? Lemme see what I've got!
-I'm very fond of my HC that Marx has Magic Shoes to go along with his Magic Hat. Because he's a Noddy, walking and other physical exertion puts him right to sleep, but his shoes are enchanted to prevent that. Steal them from him, however, and he'll pass out before he can successful chase you down for them back!
-He's sometimes annoyed by his claws, as they're not good for delicate work. (A reason he likes to trick other people into doing the hard stuff for him. "Help a silly boy with his silly boy joke~?") But he's satisfied and PROUD with the way the rest of his wings look and actually likes to flaunt them before others and preen a bit!
-On that note, his wing-lights will sometimes make a sound like wind chimes when he's standing still, letting them air. Despite the otherworldly sound and the fact that you can see light reflecting off of them, they're generally incorporeal, though he can use a bit of magic to solidify them and even break them off piece by piece. You can even eat his wing plates and they taste like sugar glass!
-Marx can sing and, like a certain Pokemon, his singing can lull listeners into a sense of drowsy calm. It doesn't work to put most people into a full on sleep unless they're already vulnerable.
-Sugary sweets & hearty meats are his favorite kinds of food! Veggies rank near the bottom for him. He likes the crunch of veggies fine enough but not the taste. He will sometimes gnaw on bones like a dog. It makes his teeth feel good.
-He doesn't have a traditional house and sleeps in the forest in the boughs of trees. He actually likes this, as he LOVES the stars and sleeping with a roof over his head is just "...missing out!"
-He's way more well-read than anyone gives him credit for. Half the time he's snuck into someone's house, it's to steal a book from their library, take it back to his "tree house" and read late into the night, swooping back in while the owner is asleep to return it.
-Like Kirby, he doesn't like the rain. It's neither day nor night but something ble~ugh in-between and everyone's inside and the rain messes up your plans and it's harder to find shelter in the rain.
-King Dedede is his second favorite target for pranks, after Kirby. In addition to light teasing, Marx does like to pick (harmless) fights with Kirby but internally feels "I'm the only one allowed to beat you!" and wouldn't stand for anyone not sanctioned by him picking on the puff.
-Less fun more wei~rd Marx body stuff, but taking a significant hit CAN rip his wings off his body. The wings immediately grow cold and inert once detached from him. He's able spawn a new set after an amount of time has passed. Potential squick, but Marx can eat his own wings (!) + other discarded body parts to aid in the recovery of his magic power and respawn his wings faster. (Inspiration from one of Simon (kabo_chips) many brilliant takes on Marx.)
-Despite the role they played in his Soul fight, red roses remain his favorite flower! He likes to eat them too! (To him, this isn't weird. He eats them because they look tasty and his stomach can take it. He'll eat candied rose petals too, of course, but he prefers to eat the heads right off the stems.)
Hello! I had a silly idea :0 - Yume Nikki Fangame with Adeleine as protagonist.
She has the perfect age range and body type for it!
...I will say, I don't think Adeleine is a good fit for a YNFG protagonist thematically. Those games are often about exploring powerful subconscious TRAUMA through dreams. Can you imagine this Adeleine with the, "iya, iya" ("no, no") reaction in front of a door?
Now, while I've nitpicked once before on the issue the fandom (and I'm not innocent of it) has with stretching and squeezing Adeleine too much to try and cram her into any of a dozen different roles she's not a good match for because she's the only human member of the cast and–at least on the surface–the easiest one to project onto (Really, KIRBY should be the easiest one to project onto, and indeed, Kirby is primed for a YN fangame, as Ondaja already figured out! ^_-) her being seen as Kirby and friends' grounded-in-reality Christopher Robin does mean it at least wouldn't be that unusual/unexpected.
So let's explore the MOST cliche scenario we could use:
I call it, "Dess McGee's Adeleine" XD
Adeleine is a patient undergoing therapy in the real world because Dream Land, Popstar, and everyone there are merely delusions she's having to cope with something awful/frightening in her life. This is her "iya, iya", where she doesn't want to leave her bedroom and continue getting treated so she can face the real world. She wants to go back to sleep so she can keep crutching on her comfort fantasy, though the two "realities" are now battling in her subconscious.
Her dream realms might consist of twisted versions of familiar Kirby landscapes that have intersected with or been awkwardly fused with elements of the real world and various psychoses that might hint (but never explain) why she withdrew from reality in the first place.
The characters might superficially resemble the familiar Kirby cast but not be acting like themselves. Some would shake their heads and walk away or ignore her, some might act aggressively and blame her for trying to "kill them" by getting treatment (these would probably be your chasers), others might look normal but start to decay in a jumpscare-like manner if you interact using certain Effects.
One could even play with the Adeleine/Ado thing here. Perhaps "Adeleine" is part of the delusion. The forever-young child who never has to grow up while "Ado" already resembled someone in her late teens. You could have a series of chasers who look like Ado, or are tall and lanky and represent other aspects of becoming a "grown-up"
Among the Effects are things like Kracko and Ice Dragon as rideables of different speed + inducing various handy weather effects, as well as her trusty paintbrush which could have a variety of functions including a return to hub effect? She should have a Dark Matter-adjacent Effect too, as a former possession victim in 64.
She miiiight also have the crystal gun as her Weapon, though to be true to the YM-style, using it on people should be more violent and semi-permanent than expected. (Oh no, real world consequences are invading my comfort space!) And of course, there is a "Ribbon" Effect that gives her fairy wings if you equip it.
The Good (?) End has Adeleine embrace her reality as the now grown up Ado and leave her room at last. The Bad (?) End has you go to sleep one last time, only to return to a fully restored, fully healed Dream Land with all her friends happy that she's back at last! ^_^
...My muse is fickle and HIGHLY opportunistic and hearing @deepseamuse share their idea for a bad ending to Apologies where Adeleine refuses to leave Noir's side at Shiver Star, we~ll...

First to Die: either Marx or Dedede
Marx because he's a good fit for the "I don't believe this. This is stupid. There's no way this is real." :immediately killed off as an example of the mastermind's seriousness: character. (Or because killing "the funny clown guy" first achieves the same goal.)
Killing Dedede would be the hardcore version of this where you know no one is safe. That said, both of them have a strong claim to the title of Kirby's "rival" so whichever doesn't die is also a shoe-in for that character that is ALWAYS arguing with you in debates. The evidence is RIGHT THERE! You're doing this on purpose, aren't you?!?

So, gosh, headcanons! If you've read my blog before, I think you'll know I lean more towards these lonnnnng vague, rambling ideas that wander this way and that rather than an easy to digest list (which I think is the preferred style?) but I'm happy to talk either way!
Of course, because I love Sectonia and she's a villain, I want her to be able to be a cool, kickass trans villain without being "a villain because she's trans" you know? (Because that's pretty much the worst, most vile thing ever. Not to go on a mini-tangent here - which I do all the time so I don't know why I always say that - but as a lover of amazing villain characters (I grew up in the Disney Golden Age) I've always wanted representation on not JUST the hero side, but amongst the "bad guys" too! Because, hey, some of us want to be a little bad! "Take over the planet? YES PLZ!" And really? Bad guy characters do have wayyyyy more fun!)
