At the end of March sadly had a beloved great Aunt who passed away who was sort of like a third grandmother to me so I thought it would be nice to pay tribute to her with a traditional pencil portrait. She was sort of like a sidekick to my Mim and she will be very missed! I think I improved both in accuracy and realism with this portrait compared to the last time I did one. Also learned of and tried a new technique of blending the graphite with small brushes rather than a tortillon, tissue or finger. Have to say I was I was really pleased with how just some dollar store paintbrushes could blend. Also let me say scanners are not your friend when it comes to scanning pencil lines! The drawing can be really dark and practically none of the details will pick up. Had to resort to taking a photo with my phone, then isolating it in Photoshop but had to try and correct with warp transformations to correct for lens distortion. Also definitely not used to having no Ctrl Z available and not having small enough erasers to get rid of tiny details. XD
