[WIP]: Lyralei's Pose Player Addon Fixes!

All credit for the original Pose Player Addon goes to VirtualArtisan/Misukisu! This mod is simply an enhancement to their amazing work, building on the foundation they created.

Ages ago, @nocturnalazure sparked a discussion about Pose Player Addon. While the current changes may not fully align with her original ideas, I wanted to share what I’ve been working on so far! 😊

Side Note: Noctie,when I first wrote that, I didn’t actually have a Sim I wanted to pose like that yet, but lately I've been trying to and it's SO FRUSTRATING! Argh! :p . So rest assured, I’m definitely looking into adding this feature now!

Current Features

  1. It will now remember what poses your sim has done this gameplay session! This way, you can re-pose them into a pose they did 5 poses before the current one.

Poses Are Now Automatically Sorted!

We all know how looooooong it can take when loading all the poses from pose list. So, what I've added, is the additional option to only show poses based off it's category!

🔧How it works under the hood:

If you’re familiar with XML, you’ll pick this up in no time!

Each category (let’s use Emotion as an example) is associated with specific keywords. For instance, the Emotion category might include subcategories like Happiness, Sadness, Anger, etc.

Here’s what the XML for Happiness looks like:

<keyword_emotion> <name_category>Happiness</name_category> <keywords>happy, happiness, smile, smiled, smiling, laugh, laughed, laughing, jump, jumped, jumping, cheer, cheered, cheering, clap, clapped, clapping</keywords> </keyword_emotion>

As shown in the (highlighted in blue) keywords line, I’ve added a list of terms. These keywords help determine whether a pose belongs to the Happiness category. The script scans all installed poses and checks if their name, description, or pose key matches any of these keywords.

Of course, I’m still fine-tuning this feature, as some keywords (like jump) can have different meanings depending on the context.

But without further ado, here it is in picture form!

Ignore the weapon poses, I still need to debug why that's being added, but overall, in this case, it's got "shyness" poses! :)

And the best part?

You can create your own custom categories, and the script will automatically detect them! 🎉

I’m currently working on some default categories for those who prefer a plug-and-play solution or don’t feel comfortable diving into the technical side of things. But if you enjoy customizing your workflow, the flexibility is all yours! 😊

What I'm adding before release:

  • Adding the option to seamlessly use both “look at” and “facial expression” together.
  • Adding the option to see the categorized lists, but for non-pose list poses.
  • Adding an in-game Category maker, so you don't have to edit the XML. It will mean you need to replace the XML file in S3PE yourself. But I can always make a quick How-To for guidance 😉
  • A better "look at" system. TS3 actually comes with a system where the sim can "look" at something by turning multiple sections of their bodies. Here's the full list:  Torso ,Head, Eye. Currently Pose addon only allows Eyes to look at things.
  • Merge two poses together. This way you can use one pose that's specifically made for facial expressions, while the rest is handled by, say, that sitting pose you want to use!

... And of course anything else that sounds like a good idea by other pose player users! 😉

Released a little library for TS3 - lets script modders replace game functions like you'd do with core mods, but via normal script mods for less conflicts :)

Tutorial : How to make roads with car parking space

When I first started using the create a world tool, I immediatly wanted to make roads with car parking space. The only world where I had seen these types of roads were in Boroughsburg by potato-ballad-sims. So, I searched up the internet as one would do when you don't know how to do something and nothing until I found this post by krrank on their forum. I already knew how to make roads at that time. In fact, it was only when I saw her showcase of dirt roads, that I saw how there was a way to make roads larger to then add cars parked on the side. Now, because I haven't found a proper tutorial on how to actually do that, I decided to make my own tutorial and share how I managed to do it. It's not as perfect as Boroughsburg in term of sidewalk intersections (because I'm not the best at texture editing) but enough to have the look of parked cars, which can make a town look so much more lively.

What I'm assuming before this tutorial :

  • You're familiar with the CAW tool
  • you know how to place roads
  • you know how to create roads using textures provided by EA or CC road textures
  • You know how to add custom content for CAW (only applicable if you don't own the university EP)

This world-Edit Hylewood by the amazing @nilxis,credit for the terrain and plant placement goes to them.Then the world was redone by one of my favourite creators @Gruesim so the replacement texture roads are to her credit. The world has 27 public lots and 16 residential lots. Stor sets are present in the world! They are included in the download in package format,also in the build there are fixes for these sets.Please read the document inside on how to properly install the Stor fixes in PACKAGE format!!!!

Recommendations for optimising the world. I advise and even insist that you use with this world mods Nraas:Master controller,nraas Overwatch,nraas Register,nraas Traffic.(Links to them do not give, I think they have you and so all installed):)Optimise the world with these mods: remove unnecessary transport, generated by the game stray animals, paparazzi and tourists. The world is released in betta version as it was little tested (and I will not have such an opportunity in the near future, so I put it out to you earlier than planned).

Just sharing this for others that use the full suite of NRaas Mods - they have official updates for the first time in a few years thanks to the amazing people keeping that site going.

I am particularly excited to see the effects of the update to Selector, which is trying to address Pie Menu lag.

Canning Jars Default Replacement

Happy Simblreen!! I started these last year and only just now finished them lol. I have one other gift for you guys that´ll be coming later!

This replaces the mesh and textures of the jam/preserve jars that come with the canning station. It IS compatible with Butterbot's overhaul and I would reccomment installing that mod also! (although you can use this replacement without it if you so choose)

I did NOT include the textures for meal rations sorry, I just find the idea of an entire cheeseburger stuffed into a jar a little too silly! I'd like to make an updated version of Butterbot's mod one day that includes a new mesh for rations.

Place this in your OVERRIDES folder!

If you like more historical/medieval gameplay, stay tuned over on my sideblog @omedievalpixel cause I´ll be releasing another version there shortly!

This mod edits the models of fish so that when you place them in the world they don't turn into tiny grey fish! This should make it much more fun to create fish markets, supermarket displays and just for general decorating :) All fish can be placed on small slots.

This currently does NOT change the model of the fish that cats catch when they are hunting, I tried many times but couldn't get it to work unfortunately.

This mod only overrides the MODELS not TEXTURES so any default replacement textures you have will be compatible!

Thank you so much to @bietjie for helping with the huge job of adding geostates to all the fish!

Boarding Schools Skill, Career, & Trait Additions by Twinsimming 🏀🎶🏐🎻🎥

The boarding school feature from The Sims 3: Generations wasn't updated to include any new skills, careers, or traits from subsequent expansion packs, so I originally made this mod to fix that.

Then I realized that there were also some base game traits and careers missing, as well as most of the hidden skills, so I added those too!

This is a tuning mod that can be placed in your Overrides folder.

Requirements

This mod requires The Sims 3: Generations.

A RAM tweak mod by Dandelion Sprout! Dandelion Sprout mod notes:

I noticed during various testing of system graphics options that gameplay and framerate slowdowns were somewhat proportional to how much RAM that Windows Control Panel showed that the game was using. In detailed worlds the game can hit 2.9 GB RAM use, at which point the game begins struggling more than usual with Error 12, astoundingly long loading/saving times, or simply crashing to desktop.

So I began pondering, how would it be possible to try to reduce the heavy taxing on the RAM allocations? I landed on trying to remove images (by creating 1x1px transparent images to override them) that would be unnecessary for core gameplay by expert Sims 3 players, mostly across 2 categories:

• Images used in the "Tutorials" menu, as they accounted for around 100 MB in total. • Beta build images and placeholder images for vanilla Sims 3 that were still present in the release version's "FullBuild0" assets. Accounts for around 25 MB.

So in theory this would reduce the RAM load by approximately 0.12 GB, whether it'd be to reduce the load outright, or so the game could use the safe-ish 2.8 GB it can use on other aspects of the game.

Will it have any effect on game performance at all? Probably not.

Is it worth trying? Probably.

I tried to pick images based on ones that I felt would be very unlikely to conflict with any other gamemods, though 100.0% guarantee on that is of course hard to give. The total tally ended up on 1,015 emptied images.

The gamemod was worked on for more than 1½ years, as I had to figure out exactly which images to handle and in which ways.

Tested with Patch 67 (along with NVIDIA Control Panel set to "Image Scaling: 100%", and a DX9-to-Vulkan .ini), almost certainly also works with Patch 69. Hard to tell if it would be needed for Patch 70. The gamemod should in theory be able to retroactively function with earlier patches, but anything before approximately Patch 36 would likely end up with strange results. Download from MTS!

Greeting Card Default Replacement for PJSims Postal Mod

Edited the UV's on the boxes so they tiled a little better when recolored. Edited all the cards with a paper texture, added color to the sims pictures, and switched out the graphics with some I found on Canva. They all have Simlish and have Simlish on the inside. The sim photos are all from PJ and only added an overlay of a paper texture to those with a little color in the background.

Of course you need the mods installed for this to do anything. ;)

The file should go in your overrides folder or you can combine it in the PhoebeJaySims_SendGreetingCardsV3.package and replace the files I changed.

A very useful mod! I did test with the 1st version with more rows, I can't remember how many, it was a few, but I've decided to use the '5 row' version and even that makes a huge difference to the scrolling of the clothes! 👍🏾 - desiree-uk New mod by Arro!

Arro mod notes:

Description • This mod adds extra clothing rows in Create a Sim. For optimal display at 1920x1080, use a package file with 6 rows. For smaller resolutions, use a package file with fewer rows. Based on feedback I've recived, it is compatible with the Tiny UI Fix, but you'll need to run it again. • To recolor clothes, simply click on the clothing item on the sim.

Installation guide • Download & unpack .zip, and place only one Arro_MoreClothingRowsX.package file in your mods -> packages folder.

• If you are using SmoothPatch as .package file, you will need to patch it using Xdelta web patcher. (it's easy!) Read more here for instructions on patching SmoothPatch! To ensure this works properly, you must have the updated Smooth Patch. This mod was created using version 2.1

Known Issues • This mod does not work with XCAS. There are alternative mods available that offer the same functionality. • The background size is fixed and does not adjust based on the amount of clothing in a given category.

[UPDATED] CAS Background Replacement - TS3 - Artorsims

I spend most of my time in CAS and I really wanted some prettier and more immersive CAS backgrounds. So, I have converted some from TS4 to TS3.

This first set of 5 backgrounds is by Artorsims. I completely fell in love with these when I saw them and they inspired me to attempt this conversion in the first place.

More sets are coming so please stay tuned!

Information

  • The background uses a 2048x2048px image so it may slow down your computer and look blurry if graphics settings are not on high. Use at your own risk.

  • The Stylist Room Default will only replace the Stylist Room. You can only have 1 Stylist Room Default at a time. Requires the Ambitions EP.

DarkM Main Menu - V1 Release

This post will serve as a hub for this mod. Any future updates will be posted here. The version of each update will be included in the title of the post so you can easily know if you’re up to date.

0. Please remember this is a new mod. I have put in every effort to ensure its quality, but as with any new release, there may be issues. I appreciate your understanding and encourage you to report any errors you encounter.

1. This mod was developed for a 1920x1080 resolution, and I am unsure how it will look on different resolutions. However, I would like this mod to support all hardware. Please contact me via messages if you would like to help :)

2. Two things that have not been changed currently are the menu that opens when you click on the three dots and the slider on the list that appears when you click the world select button.

This is when there are no saves yet.

And this is when at least one save is present.

School Additions (Call In Sick + Manually Attend After School Clubs)

I got the idea for calling in sick from the 'mods I wish existed' thread on MTS and the after school club portion was added because I wanted a way to still send my sims even if they attended school using ultimate careers. I hope you all enjoy!

Requirements:

  • Base Game Compatible. If you don't have EP4, the after school club interactions won't show.
  • No mod requirements.
  • Made on version 1.67.

Recommended:

Ultimate Careers Cross-Compatibility:

  • To accommodate for UC, your sim must phone in sick before 7am. This is regardless of if you're actually using the mod to send your sims to school or not. As long as you have the mod installed, it counts.
  • If you're using the original Zerbu version instead of the updated version, the 7am deadline still applies but you won't see the greyed out tooltips in-game to remind you of it.

Calling In Sick

  • Phone Interactions found under 'School' path.
  • By default: children must ask an older sim to call for them while teens can either ask or call for themselves. This is XML tuneable.
  • Sim must have either 'sick' or 'fake sick' buffs.
  • Older household sims can call in for younger sims if they have 'sick' buffs.

School children and teens can try to convince older household members that they need to stay home due to sickness. They don't need to be sick to use this interaction.

  • Found under Friendly/Ask For School Sick Day
  • Success depends on the traits and buffs of both sims.
  • Many of these values can be tuned via. the XML.

See the download page for which buffs count as sick/fake sick.

Attend After School Clubs Manually

Since you can't attend after school clubs unless you've been at school that day, I needed a way to manually send my sims to attend them. (Handy if they've been off sick or if you are using the UC mod for school).

Click on the school within club hours and send your sim to their club.

Conflicts:

  • This is a pure script mod, so it shouldn't conflict with any other mods.
