Cuba Lounge Chair
Designed by Morten Gøttler for Carl Hansen & Son
Born in Denmark, Morten Gøttler opened his own drawing office in 1975 and became a Member of Danish Designers (MDD), a Copenhagen-based multidisciplinary association of professional designers, in 1981. Gøttler is known for his work in wood, which is characterized by a simple, airy look and exquisite feel. His Cuba Lounge Chair (1997) is one such piece, with its clean and smooth profile and hand-woven cotton straps that conform to the body. As sturdy as it is alluring from all sides, the chair features a rugged frame assembled with spigot joints and held together by heavy-duty brass hinge mechanisms. This light and flexible chair will be equally at home in the modern living room, an open kitchen or similar setting, and it folds for easy storage when not in use. The matching Wall Hook (sold separately) holds one chair. Made in Denmark.
