I’m awake, I’m alive. (=´∇`=) and I want to post something so here an Harvey Dent <3
The first pic is…an incident. It isn’t an artistic choice, I mean, it is because in the end I chose to leave it this way, but…it just happened when I tried to split the channels on photoshop…and I think is cool?? ahahah

So much lost potential in the character of Two-Face over the years. The closest we got to gold was with Billy Dee Williams’s portrayal.
While drawing this , I thought on a recent discussion about another illustrator’s work using bright red lips– I pulled up Bruce Timm’s version and felt something I hadn’t before. Or had and just pushed aside. I still ponder on it. Especially with character having to be what seemed ambiguously black. What were the intentions behind the design? I further thought about it because other ‘black’ Characters from the 90’s were portrayed in that green/blue color (Skeeter from Doug is the only one I can think of now honestly).
I just left it at thinking, if he were scarred that way, he’d probably lean into a persona that represented how everyone tried to paint him, coming up straight laced believing the system would be 'color blind’ and that it would eventually serve him as faithfully as he tried to serve it. Dealings inside the law would give him his permanent disfigurement, painting him a monster to those who’d see him. He’d drift into the persona of Harv’ that would just get 'it’ done, not give a 🦆 and deliver out pain unapologetically. He’d flip a 50 cent coin for poetic reasons, one being JFK and 2, it being from his father’s collection that was sold to put Harvey thru school.
His tragedy would be he’d be caught forever between these two opposites (stringer vs barksdale) dictated by others, self propelled into a waring relationship in one body. We’d never get to see the person he’d actually wanted to be. He’d have been friends with Bruce Wayne, who never seemed to get his circumstance, fueling their future relationship as their other selves and how they see each other.
But anyway, yeah, the closest we came to perfection was Billy Dee. For that I say thank you, and Happy Birthday.
