Between the events of the Reverie, the disappearance of Lulusia and Sabo, Kuma running off, and Sabo's sudden return-- she's exhausted. But when she and Sabo finally get a moment alone, away from the other members of the Army, she can tell that there's something wrong with him, that he's hiding something and trying to distance himself from her.
And Koala refuses to let him.
not to be a hater on main but while in theory sabo looks wonderful in the new toei anime style, i actually really hate how they're animating and coloring him because they're making his scar damn near imperceptible and nowhere near as obvious and in your face as it should be and it's incredibly upsetting and also shows that toei is valuing aesthetics over intentional character design
because sabo's scar should be more noticeable. it should be something you can see easily, because it's incredibly important to his character. that scar symbolizes the cruelty of the celestial dragons, and what they took from him. it's meant to be obvious because oda wants you to see it and wants you to notice it every time you see him. it isn't supposed to be just a slightly darker shade from his skin, and it drives me up a wall each time i see it. he's not ugly when his scar is darker and more noticeable, in fact i kinda prefer his earlier designs and colors because of how much more noticeable they are
i mean, just look at the difference between sabo in the wano animation style vs sabo in the egghead style. it's so deliberate. and even wano's animation style significantly toned it down compared to the dressrosa/reverie animation style!
anyways, toei continues to disappoint me with the direction they're going in, and it makes no sense to me why they made this change outside of wanting to make him more ~aesthetically pleasing~

you already know that i love headcanoning sabo as being very physically needy, so i can 100% see him just clinging onto her cape when she’s on a mission without him.
we already know that koala and sabo were separated a bit before the dressrosa arc, with koala infiltrating the country before him, and i can just picture him laying on her bed, just curled around her green cape.
