Really? Unless I’m saving as black or white or something seriously muted, I never do anything but 256.
that gif you reblogged from me... the jaw clench?!... it's a 152 colors and still got the same coloring as the gifset i posted before, which has the full 256. and i really can't see a difference. but then again: that does not work with every gif (always depends on the scene and then the coloring you gotta pull off in order to make it somewhat presentable. :))

only helps a tiny bit though, barely noticeable. okay, well, depending on how colorful the gif is. but since tumblr hates vibrance anyway there's no need to worry about 256 colors that much. which is really freaking sad, tbh. sometimes i get lucky and pull the most amazing coloring and then tumblr's being a butt and gives me errors due to too much vibrance and then i gotta go back to normal coloring. :(
