I swear I focus on new things every RGU rewatch. This time I'm noticing more just how much Wakaba just really dislikes Anthy right from the beginning. Like obviously it comes to a head in Wakaba Flourishing, but like... there's this period of time in the first few episodes where all Utena and Anthy and Utena and Wakaba moments are separate (you don't get all 3 of them eating together yet) and pretty much every time Anthy comes up in conversation Wakaba is just really dismissive of her.

She does such a good job hiding her jealousy once they actually DO start interacting that it's easy to forget that the resentment isn't just building, it was boiling under the surface from the start
