This is my Eddie gif of the day:
I want to talk about this look right here 👇
This is where Ana said:
"I know there hasn't been anyone else since he lost his mother."
And Eddie made that face ☝
This face, to me, said so many things (not necessarily in that order)
1. That's not true.
2. Eddie had a lot of help starting from his abuela, to Pepa, to Carla, his 118 family and obviously Buck.
3. Buck! Who was there for everything, even when Shannon was still alive, even now at that moment, he was looking after Christopher, who in Eddie's words said later- is a miracle-worker! You don't become the Christopher whisperer without being there all the time, knowing that kid and his dad inside and out.
4. Eddie's eyes saying I'm not very happy with you right now, but I'll give you a chance anyway.
5. Eddie's eyes saying I will not say anything because I'm not sure how it will come out and I don't want to come off rude or reveal too much too soon.
6. Eddie’s eyes, his entire face and body really, are turned away from Ana. His mind is already somewhere else.
In conclusion, this whole scene felt forced, awkward and both Eddie and Ryan look like he preferred to be anywhere else and do something else entirely.
I do love however that when Eddie is finally getting home, he goes to find Christopher and Buck in a very domestic and cute scene.
Finally looking comfortable in his own skin.
Ps. Lmk if you want me to do a post for that cute domestic buddie scene.
