Call it the way I see it!

It was stronger than me, I read the live blogs.

Gotta say that out of all the whacky things, the only thing I resent is that Mara is taken from the henrens house, like Nia.

Because we've been there before. BE ORIGINAL TIM! GIVE US ONE STORY WHERE WE'RE SURPRISED THAT NOTHING WENT WRONG.

Because a child taken out of henren's custody has been done before and now it's just:

I wanted the big wedding, too. Without the hospital. And I feel a little underwhelmed by it. There should have been two eps to make it acutally work, I think.

And to being jade, I so feel ya. There is a certain lack of interest now. But I can't say by to Eddie or Ryan just yet.

And I love HenRen.

Avatar

Yep, I felt underwhelmed, too.

I mean, in spite the watered down version of the wedding, Kenny and JLH are just so moving together, they genuinely love each other and it translates so beautifully on screen.

But yeah, I really wish they made it a 2h event and actually told the story better and also gave the space for a big beautiful, joyful wedding, with a first dance and JLH singing, it would have been epic, Madney deserved that much.

And Jaded is right, after 7 seasons they all should have been somewhere more, I don't know, advanced, next level?

I mean, I follow other firefighters shows, in season 7 all characters are so much more developed and progressed coming such a long way, with probies coming and going that in comparison to 911, 911 feels lacking, it's like the level of storytelling never progressed beyond surface level.

Even the calls that are supposedly supposed to be epic in scale and are strawn over several episodes have not been at the same level since the tsunami.

But you are right, as far as flawless development concerned the only one actually evolving and maturing since s4 finale, is Eddie.

He has come such a long way since S2 and S3. He is not the same man we first met in 2x01, and I am definitely here for him. That is the only thing that is keeping me watching.

I want to see where his story goes. I am on the edge of my seat especially after the last episode where we saw Eddie full of confidence and finally free to party and actually allow himself to have fun.

I am still mourning Eddie and Tommy friendship, from the little we saw that could have been an epic, out of the 118 circle, friendship.

But alas, the writers don't believe in good friendships for Buck and Eddie, everyone are fated to be a LI and eventually an ex.

Since we all learned long ago not to get attached to any guest character, I am merely biding my time until we reached some kind of point in either boys' story.

And how can anyone not love HenRen?? 😍😍

this sounds so wrong but i need a major character to get killed off this season. it’s a firefighter show and somehow no one has died, only significantly hurt. and even if somone gets significantly hurt, they usually skip the recovery part too. it’s getting so predictable. the finale for last season was honestly not my favorite. everyone was just fine in the end and they time skipped again. there’s no stakes with this show. it’s gotten to the point where everything is predictable and it’s tiring.

Hello dear Anon :)

To be honest, last season I said the same thing, the way the last episode was written was a sham. It looked like it was thrown together last minute, the important things got shoved aside for the grand call that had no emotional impact to it, so yeah, a character's death would have made more impact than some whatever the hell we got.

The physical part, obviously Oliver's damn good at, always impressive. But it was a 118 emergency, and there was very little emotion to it.

And don't get me started on the skipping the recovery parts, that the only ones we saw were Buck's and the only thing those stories did was break the 118 apart before miraculously making it better by glossing over it with a "family excuses all transgression without dealing with it or talking about it" policy and no real development on anyone's part.

Except Eddie's which is the only recovery story (which was only the ptsd not the actual injury recovery) that I loved, because it led to actual character development, Eddie of S2-3 is different than the one we got from one season to another.

All the rest are made better and more relatable by their relationship with their partners, Bathena love each other so much that they make changes for one another, Henren made an amazing recovery from Hen's betrayal in S2, she does her damnest to be better for her wife every single day of their lives which really makes them couples goals.

And Maddie made Chimney more relatable to me personally, because when he's not with her he does dumb stuff, like punching his future brother in law in the face. Which was swept under the rug too. I love Chimney, but some behaviors to me as a person are unacceptable in my eyes. Physical violence that is not in a boxing ring with a true opponent or done in self defense, is unacceptable and should be talked about, not normalized on national television.

But Madney is a beautiful pairing and I love JLH for insisting on Chimney instead of a romance with Eddie. Because really, I can't even imagine it nor could I in S2, long before I shipped buddie. Madney just works! And I can't wait for the wedding.

But fact to the matter is, we don't see the actual developments during the physical recovery itself which takes down the emotional value, we don't even see the bedside vigils in between, unless it's Buck or if Buck needs Chimney's finger print to get into his phone to find Maddie.

I want it to be clear, that I love Buck! I do, and tbh much like in Chimney's regard with Maddie, Eddie made Buck relatable to me, I didn't like him at first, I was fond of him, I didn't want him fired in S1, and I wanted to slap him silly with that lawsuit in S3, But I love him, Eddie made me love him, because we get to see him through Eddie's eyes.

I hate that while everyone else developed, Buck keeps getting slid back. I really wish the writers did him the justice he deserves by actually letting him grow into the person we keep seeing glimpses of and make it stick.

I get what you're saying, because a death, would give and emotional payout and set the tone in a hopefully more positive way, like Otis's death in S8 of Chicago fire, or Miller from Station 19 last season. (Still haven't forgiven Shonda for that).

But now, S7 feels like a reboot, so before we throw anyone to the dogs let's give them a chance to make an impact before we choose the nuclear option. 😉

A couple of days ago, I was talking with a mutual and told her that so far I am at a wait and see mode, whatever happens next, will decide whether I watch S8 or not, I'm manifesting a good season and a good conclusion to everything.

If not, well can't say we didn't give it the old college try. 😉❤️

I swore I wouldn't get involved in this season's crazy,

And I won't, but most of the ppl I follow are die hard buddie, so I see stuff.

Gotta say most of my theories from the spoilers I glimpsed are widely different from interpenetrations I saw thus far.

And if I ever wrote those it would be loooong so I'm not going to.

I think, however, with the move to ABC (Love their shows, love their ships and messages) I am hoping for a few things.

  • I am hoping that both of the bathena pair survive their honeymoon
  • I am hoping Hen and Karen continue to be happy and finally parenting another child that will not be taken from them.
  • I hope Madney finally ties the knot. for the love of god let these two get married and be happy together.
  • I hope Eddie breaks up with Marisol early in the season (I saw a bts of her- I'm pissed that the season starts with the "fake girlfriend" at all.) and comes out or becomes more obvious about his straighthood because I ain't been feeling it since early S3.
  • I hope Buck experiences actual growth and becomes the 29 year old adult that he's supposed to be by now.
  • I hope we get new blood of firefighters joining this very small for any firehouse crew, and that their drama and mischief will be young and fun.
  • I hope we get Ravi, A LOT of Ravi!
  • I hope this show finds it's sweet spot again, because the fans and tbh the cast deserves a good storytelling even if for one season,
  • I hope BUDDIE goes canon and that Buck adopts Christopher, but that's just wishful thinking - because 7 seasons in, I will believe it ONLY if I see it.

Regardless, of if buddie gets together, I hope people will start getting laid in this show, I mean, the only couple who's got it going on strong since S2 are Bathena. I mean, good on them, but for god's sake, no wonder Buck and Eddie are so miserable, neither of them got laid on screen since mid season 2.

Are these people hermits?

Just some random thoughts that snuck in.

Anyway, have a great premiere my friends, give me a shout if buddie does the impossible and finally get together.

Avatar

what is your ending if 6x18 theory please???? please

Avatar

My ending? Hmm I would have written the rescue a lot more emotional. I would show Buck moving between the hospital rooms checking on his family before settling in Eddie's or Bobby's room.

I would have shown a Madney wedding, and Buck and Eddie stealing a kiss after the ceremony. 👀

Madney leaving on a honeymoon, bathena finally getting their honeymoon, Hen and Karen's scene I would have left as it is about the possible adoption (it was the only scene I loved of the ending).

And I would have showed buddie with Christopher looking for a new couch for Buck's apartment.

Hey there... I've been offline a bit and took a step back from fandom to try and get my excitement back. It was semi-successful... there were good things in the last few eps but I am torn between not caring and still hoping for a good finale.

How do you maintain your excitement? Any tips.

Have a good week 🙂

-spn anon

Omg nonnie,

You and I are pretty much in the same boat.

I am literally torn between not caring and hoping for a good ending as well.

I mean, all the signs are there, and we've done this song and dance before, I did not think the storytelling will deteriorate to that once again, but here we are.

I am giving it until the finale next week.

After that, the question of whether I'll stick to canon or retire to fanon forever will be finally answered.

I keep reviewing, I keep seeing the signs and point them out, I enjoy making gifs and weave theories, but I am tired.

So one more week, after that if we're expected to settle for mediocre hetero relationships, I'll be taking my interest elsewhere, somewhere the hetero relationships were written convincingly over time, where best friends/brotherly relationships are actually written that way, somewhere I can see new relationships begin and smile at the cuteness of it.

Because if it were a man and a woman or 2 women, we would have long ago gotten to see our beloved, prancing around each other from the start, duo together.

But two men finding each other is too complicated to write somehow.

This is me venting, and I'm sorry.

The best way to keep the excitement up is to put the pairing aside and focus on something else good in the show. This time, it was Maddie and Jee proposing to Chimney.

Other times, it's Hen and Karen cuteness, they really are a fun couple.

And more often than not, Bobby and Athena, there's always something to love them for. It's the kind of relationship I wish for myself. To be together for a long time, inlove and being sexy together at all ages - I want that!

So, no, it's not the buddie show, but we wish it was part of the show in a canonical way. There's nothing wrong with that.

Chin up, babe! Push comes to shove, you're welcome to join me in fanon forever, we'll be very happy there 😉❤️🤗

First 911 6x13 watch is done, I swear these two are at the very least sleeping together.

Like omg, the looks, the smiles, the exasperated "Buck.." When Buck talks about former women, he slept with.

I love partners in crime buddie! It's so awesome and amusing!

I loved the captains being indulgent of Buck and the gentle prodding.

And Eddie, knowing the exact time Buck was dead, I can't get past that.

And can we talk about the fact that Buck has a couch and the Diaz boys are still sitting with him in the kitchen?!

Or how about the fact that Hen and Karen came to tell Denny's father that they have to set ground rules for him to see his son, and right after that, we get Buck with Christopher alone in the kitchen.

Denny, yelling my dad could be dead and you don't even care, straight out threw me to you could be dead next year.

There were a lot of elements in the Denny storyline that we had with Eddie and Christopher.

Also, Christopher and Buck, Christopher insisting on seeing Buck in the hospital in 6x11 and Carla taking him, like Toni talking sense into Henren, then taking him in to see his father.

The stories are different but similar.

But I loved the Denny storyline and also loved Denny's scene with Chimney. It's obvious that for Denny, Chimney is the fun beloved uncle. He seems like a partner in crime if Denny warns him not to get in yet because it's not safe, lol.

Later, we have, in comparison, Buck's scenes with Christopher, not uncle, but dad.

Also, can we talk about Buck doing math and Eddie researching this phenomenon? Pulling a full Buck, next to Buck, in Buck's kitchen.

I love it!! I want more!!! 😍😍

Thank you I love your blog and your answers. I completely agree with you, I think one of the things that made this episode not liked by many is all the time they gave to the Buckleys, ok the dream but in the real world we should have seen the people we care about, the scenes with may/Athena and may/Bobby were great because we care about them, and seeing the lacking of eddie, we should have seen a scene with him and hen talking about how they felt, instead we got the new couch

Thank you, so kind 💜💜

In the dream, it made sense that they'd be there because this was a world of what if Daniel had lived.

But in the real world, they should have shown us the effect it had on the people we see in the firehouse or the regular characters that are normally connected to Buck.

Tbh, I feel like maybe we didn't get the bedside vigil or confession, but I think it just pained Eddie to physically be there, see Buck like that. - I'm going to make a full 6x11 Eddie meta once I land in Madrid. But the little that we did see of Eddie was enough for now.

Would it have been nice to see more, absolutely, but what we did get was so loud that a credit really is owed to Ryan's brilliant acting. And it says a lot about Eddie's bond with Buck.

We're all upset at the unnecessary over-attention to the Buckleys in the real world, but what we did get from the regular cast was just as good.

There's this thing my sister laughs and loves that I do, I watch things deluweil style, meaning once I've seen the episode once, I pretty much fast forward the parts that don't interests me, and helps me focus on what's there.

At this point, my mind is like, and were the Buckleys really ever there? 😂

Obviously, yes, but also no, because according to Oliver, they're gone by the next episode, and whatever aftermath left to deal with will be done by the true ppl who love and understand Buck.

Eddie probably more than anyone.

That stupid couch, the man is out of the hospital, and she's focusing on redecorating the place instead of marching him up to bed.

Kind of reminded me when my mom comes to visit. Nothing is ever at the same place by the time she goes home. And somehow she's always cleaning - and I swear I keep my place clean lmao. Also, one of the reasons I prefer to be alone when I'm sick is that I don't have to pretend I'm fine for anyone's benefit.

But we digress, I would love a firehouse chat between Eddie and Hen, like the one they had after Karen nearly died, and Denny started asking about his dad.

I want them talking about Christopher and how he's dealing with Buck almost dying and how's Eddie holding up.

Because after the bomb and the embolism, a different Eddie told Buck in different words, that Buck nearly died, he's got the rest of his life ahead of him, and that his life didn't end because he can't be a firefighter. - what he meant was we're grateful you're not dead, you are loved whether you're a firefighter or not and preceeded to give him Christopher to watch over. (3x02 if I'm not mistaken)

Therapized Eddie, I'm betting, will be more forthcoming this time around. And I am here waiting for it. 👀🙏✨️💜🤗
