You know how there is Superman and Bizzaro Superman?
Well...
You know how there is Superman and Bizzaro Superman?
Well...
idk if this is anything, but i wanted to tell someone. i started rewatching the pilot for 911 and abby’s most recent ex-boyfriend was named tommy..
i’m 100% buddie shipper btw. i just thought maybe there was an interesting parallel somewhere there
Hello my dear Anon :)
I've been less than involved this season in the fandom talk.
But something that came up from the beginning is indeed the theory that Tommy from Abby's past is the Tommy of Buck’s sort of present. (Age wise btw it makes sense too since Tommy is closer to Abby's age than Buck's).
And by what Tommy says in one of the begins and the way that Abby treated Buck and how she broke his heart in S1 and S2 and the less than satisfying closure Buck got with that bitch in S3 finale.
It kind of stands to reason that this (and not logically his less than stellar past with Chimney and Hen under Gerrad) will be the deal breaker.
(You can tell this story is written by either a man or KR aka badly 😂).
It will be hilarious if it turns out to be true.
Can we talk for a second how both Gerrard and T touch Buck without his permission?
Like completely un-prompted T kissed Buck after he talked about attention and how great Eddie is for a good five? Six minutes?
And completely un-prompted, when Buck is again confused as to the consequences of his actions, which ironically sent both Eddie and Gerrard to get medical attention 🤣 and he expects Gerrard to fire him, when in fact Gerrard hugs him for saving his life.
This time, finally, Buck has the proper response of why is this person hugging me instead of firing me?
Which is, funnily enough, with T - what should have been asked was why are you kissing me instead of reading me the riot act for hurting our friend?
The parallel is there, and if I had to guess, Buck wasn't confused with Tommy because it was a supposedly romantic/lusty reaction, like he knows what to do with that, he's done it with perfect strangers so it felt natural even though the gender changed.
But here Buck doesn't know what to do with adult gratitude, and a hug at that, he's not used to that, so hence the proper reaction of wtf is happening here in this scene with Gerrard.
Buck will probably play along, a lot like he does with the situation with T, but he's aware with Gerrard, and once he gets rid of one, he will probably get rid of the other as well, because he will come to his senses when he connects what bothers him in his relationship with Gerrard with what may be out of place in his relationship with T.
Ironically, the one hug he did expect was the one he got from Eddie in the coming out scene, and there was no confusion there. He knew what to do with it, because it was Eddie.
Just a thought.
Saw a post of someone wanting a T begins,
We already did, it wasn't impressive and kinda racist.
Go watch S1 and S2 to catch up on the not so impressive past of one tk 2.0.
I have to say that if one is going to create a certain ship, at long last, the emergency of the opening season shouldn't be of Athena.
Athena and Bobby have done their share of bonding.
And even though Buck and Eddie have been closer than ever, the clown couple (derogatory) of showrunners have ruined all progress, one by a certain death doula that "saw Buck" 🤦♀️ for an episode and a half and a shotgun relationship created with little sister insignificant Marisol. And the other by Buck literally road killing Eddie to gain "T's attention" (calling bullshit) never apologizing and then have him caught up in himself (what else is new) for the rest of the season. All the while shoving Eddie away from himself and his now not new friend or friend at all, Buck has all the attention now and tbh not sure that toxic crap is the attention I would want, but Buck’s messed up childhood dictates that bad attention is still attention so why not.
Don't even get me started on TM literally burning Eddie’s so called relationship with a TVD doppelganger crap, that is so far fetched and not who Eddie is that my hands are still itching to bitch-slap Tim for ruining Eddie in the name of "the plot" and regressing him mentally to fucked up S3-4 state of mind. Hate him! (TM, never Eddie)
So really the emergency again being an Athena brand, also fucking far fetched because SHE IS A POLICE SARGENT- SHE WORKS THE STREETS!
She in NOT a US Marshall,
She is NOT a detective,
She is not a US Marshall working on manhunt,
She is not any kind of fed, and she is not SWAT but still was brought in to figure out the sniper MO somehow.
I am so confused.
This show is very copaganda and it's driving me crazy, because the mains are supposed to be firefighters with a side of cop wife and dispatch wife not the other way around.
But seriously, after Christopher leaving and with Buck still visiting toxic lane, now would have been the best time to get Eddie into his wild and reckless side and make everyone worry about him and bring him and Buck closer together.
Buck choosing Eddie, showing him, he's enough. Nudging him towards his own realization, making him fight his instincts to self destruction after his drama queen son left him for his toxic parents.
I am sensing a pattern here. Gotta say no parents deserved even the smallest redemption arcs they received in S6 if this was the natural progression.
Not having much hopes of the next season being at all attractive storytelling wise.
Hopefully, buddie, at least, can get their heads out of their asses long enough to get together.
Though, and this is the most controversial remark I will ever make here (and God knows I made a lot) I don't feel like Buck deserves him rn. I really want better for Eddie, I want him to finally be settled and happy and focusing on enjoying life and on his job.
Maybe start studying for the lieutenants exam and move up the ladder in the LAFD.
Don't you guys find it weird that they are all stuck in some limbo, where no one wants to move higher. And the only time they actually received a commendation was not for daring saves during a tsunami, not for a daring save during earthquake or the dam explosion, not for pulling Eddie from snipers fire and so on.
What they got a commendation for was for just showing up, barely doing any saving with their toy chopper, God knows what they planned to do with it and barely any equipment.
I guess showing up is half the part in 911?
A participation trophy if I ever saw one 🤦♀️
That was so lame and kinda dumb.
Anyway, I digress, this turned into a longer post than I meant to, and I kinda went off on a tangent.
Bottom line is, that I cannot believe that Athena is on that plane, in the opening long-ass season disaster, again.
When I come across old Teen Wolf clips of Coach and this quote describes my feelings regarding S7 and S8 of 911 perfectly 😂
"This is a rebuilding season people!"
From what I am seeing on CF S9 triangle situation of the Brett-Casey-Granger variety,
TM is doing the gay version of it on 911, poorly, of course, like everything he copied.
The difference here is that Granger was a quality candidate for Brett. He was very into her, sweet, attentive, understanding, and he stepped back when he realized she still had feelings for Casey.
He liked her so much, that when Casey came to change his mind about breaking up with Brett, telling Granger that he will not get in the way, Granger tells him he doesn't care what Casey will do or won't do, but he cares about Sylvie and that she is in love with him(Casey).
So yeah, maybe TM copied the triangle, but it is so badly written, that like all others LIs that came before, we would all feel relieved to see the latest TK leave.
Where, in comparison, I was feeling bittersweet and even mildly disappointed about seeing Granger out of the picture because I genuinely liked him for Sylvie.
What in the amount of blocked bummies tell my "for you" dash that I want more loons on my dash?
Just when I thought I blocked them all, another racist bummy rears his ugly head on my for you dash and bash Eddie, before even watching S8.
Yes, we get it you joined in for the two white males and the daddy kink joke, but for the love of God at least try to watch the entire thing before spouting crap like a racist old man with a 'stache getting along with the brown haired tanned Latino on his crew, that even if he kept his head down he would still make a handsome target if only for his skin color and slight accent.
Oh and also his last name.
All you white ppl need to just shut up and see where the wind blows, before you start to sound unobjectively racist while hating the racist captain for MAYBE picking on the one white male of the group.
And how the hell are they still only five?!
I want Ravi. But that's for another post. Probably for the best, though, for him to return after Gerrard kicks it out to early forced retirement. (De ja vu anyone?)
I'm mystified by the fact that the excuse to Buck's behavior and the way we see Eddie behave in 7x04 is that we're seeing, supposedly, the world through Buck's eyes.
We see sunshine, funny, gorgeous, yummy enough to eat Eddie, through Buck's eyes. - We see Buck watching Eddie, THE ENTIRE EPISODE, and rant about Eddie, THE ENTIRE EPISODE, right up until the moment T kisses him unexpectedly.
And we're supposed to believe that Buck was after T's attention the entire time...
Sure.. I ... believe that...?
I know this is going to be hella controversial -
But I keep coming across bummies posts where they talk about Buck's crush on Tommy and that fantastic connection they formed (in the all of twenty minutes tops they had on screen with two kisses and a badly timed joke),
And I'm thinking, what crush? Tommy kissed Buck because he struck out with Eddie and Buck was available, Buck realized he likes kissing boys and the attention,
And thought 'we're here, we're apparently queer, let's give this a go.'
There was nothing there besides need for attention and curiousity.
He wasn't getting the emotional attention he needed so he reverted to the physical, in true S1 style with male Abby.
So again what crush??
This is my take anyway, and not rewatching or rehearsing the situation has convinced me otherwise.
People who are saying now is not the time for Buck and Eddie to get together, I think that's wrong.
Now, would have been the perfect time.
IF TIM MINEAR DIDN'T COME AND RETCONNED 6 SEASONS OF CHARACTERS DEVELOPMENT!
Eddie was post therapy, he was happier, he was ready for whatever was coming next, at first with Buck until he slapped him in the face with that "I feel like she sees me" crap line.
And Buck would have gone through his own process, of dealing with his death and discovering his sexuality, and S7 finale would have been THE TIME to get it right and step in the buddie direction.
What happened though was more like this - Here's male Abby, he will see Buck as a sex object and not make much effort, because like Abby he just wants someone to wear his sexy underwear for and get down and dirty even though Buck has not even officially popped his gay cherry (I am astonished it hasn't even been discussed or researched on the show yet, but he's having dinner at the loft with T and get a daddy joke while trying to be serious and vulnerable.)
And on the Eddie front was more like - Here's Ana 2.0 - she will be a wall flower and kinda get cheated on by the blonde ghost of his ex-wife. She will be gone with no explanation, because she didn't mean anything to begin with other than be a hand bag for a while and then blonde Shannon will haunt Eddie for real against his will and cause a tear between him and his son as dessert for an already terrible season.
So no, it's not true that now is not the time for them to get together, because the only time either Buck or Eddie made sense and felt like a familiar echoes of themselves is when they were together playing off each other.
"Do what you always do."
Eddie doesn't need therapy, we just need to wake up from this nightmare and reset back to the end of S6.
Thanks for your response to that other anon about Tommy; you’re totally right. I also was intrigued, even liked him and Buck after their first kiss. But his closet comment and behavior on their first date, like he didn’t care that Buck has LITERALLY just figured out his bisexuality and that’s A LOT to process, his dismissive attitude towards Buck’s ideas and feelings (the bachelor party henley, the “enjoy it while it lasts” at the medal ceremony)….and then add in the way some fans have gone 0 to 100 on them so quickly, even calling them endgame, and likely at least in part JUST because it’s two men…it’s become such a turn off. I was neutral, even wanted to like them at first, but now am counting the days until it ends. And it’s not because I’m a BoB or would dislike any Buck LI that isn’t Eddie. And I don’t agree with anyone getting HATE (we can sideeye and judge people’s actions ($cameos$) But I think seeing Buck in a canon male/male relationship has caused some people to lose their damn minds. Ship and let ship! Stay in your sandbox, we’ll stay in ours!
LOL I am so removed from all the crowing bummies that I have to ask wth is BoB?
I actually went to look it up and found some interesting options, I am going with this one:
"Bob" is a generic and common name, and using it can be a way of avoiding formalities or creating a relaxed and approachable atmosphere
If you have the other meaning go ahead and tell me, like bummies I understand what benefits me in the moment😂
I kinda wish ppl will look up the meaning of "comphet" (I actually looked it up) that Ryan keeps bringing up in his interviews - that way ppl can stop saying crap things about him being the one to derail Eddie-T because he was supposedly against it. - Which is bullshit, Tim repeatedly said it was because the Natalia actress couldn't come back and M actress could. - Also, Originally T was supposed to be Lucy, she just couldn't come back so they took Lou in a pinch, so Obviously the endgame sure as shit wasn't the pilot.
And you're right, T's attitude was condescending at best, I was talking about it with a mutual the other day, and said that if they really had an interest to build BT properly, also by the time they came up with BT they knew they were being renewed for S8, they could have slowed into this. Actually make Buck's coming out story, a coming out story, not "So first date was a bust, how bout you come to my sister's wedding?" like who does that?
They could have started as friends with Lou being a gay guru, they could have had private dates until Buck was actually out to everyone and ready to be seen in public.
There could have been feelings involved that developed over time.
I gave the example of Tim-Ashley vs Nolan-Bailey from The Rookie, while Ashley was fairly kept to the background (btw she got more screen time than T, just saying) while Bailey was constantly and still being weaved into the story, intricated into Nolan's life, because he was meant to end up with her.
What ppl, who seem to have never watched good tv in their lives, don't seem to understand is that there is a way to write a story, and 911 not only screwed up spectacularly with Buck and Eddie's storylines, but they managed to make it clear from the get go that any LI to come along would be written just bad enough for it to be clear that they are not lasting.
Even furious, Eddie never walked away from Buck. Even when Buck was an asshole in 2x01, Eddie stood his ground and insisted they sort it through making it clear that they are on the same side, that he cares about him and wanting to be his friend. - His partner, a team.
Tommy, like all his predecessors, walked away as soon as something didn't fit his little comfort zone. Tommy walked away on that first date, he didn't contact Buck after that, Buck had to make contact and apologize for not being comfortable on his first date with a guy, like how messed up is that?
And Tommy's little acid retort in front of Eddie in the restaurant before that? From the side it's hilarious for someone who was never in that position. It was mean and uncalled for, but not exactly a surprise because T was never much of am understanding person, he was pretty much an ass from the get go in S2, only difference now is that he is out of the closet.
How did Athena put it when Michael first brought his new bf home after they got divorced? "If Michael had cheated on me with a woman, no one would have expected me to slap on a fake smile and welcome her into my home."
And that is exactly what the GA expects us to do, so what if Buck injured Eddie for attention? He's bi now.
So what if T was an ass and pretty much dismissive towards Buck and talks to him often in a bored way like one talks to a child? He's gay now.
A certain sexual preference does not excuse bad behavior. A person's behavior is supposed to be taken at face value, and not excused just because that person is now seeing someone who happens to be of the same gender.
Crappy behavior is just that - crappy behavior - equal accountability and all that.
I actually liked Taylor for Buck in S2, I think Lucy could have been perfect for him in S5, but the writers made sure to smear their characters in the eyes of the GA from the beginning, thus ending up with another failed relationship, while Buck's relationship with Eddie thrives from one episode to another for the last 7 seasons. One has to wonder about that even if they don't ship buddie.
Same pattern here with T. I was prepared to like him with Buck, I was prepared to see Buck making his way out of the closet with someone who would make him feel safe to do it, not kiss him unprepared under the pretense of coming originally on Eddie's behalf. Not that crap show that was that restaurant date. Not Buck apologizing after feeling insecure and exposed in public for the first time out of the closet and so many other things. - I'm getting the same vibes as Taylor looking through her phone in disinterest in 4x11 as Buck recites some google fact.
And you're right, the fans going from 0-200 after one kiss was just ridiculous, like chill people have you never seen two men kiss before?
I have, on screen and in RL, I grew up with lovely lgbtq+ friends from childhood, it's not all that. When my gay best friend dated someone who didn't treat him right, I told him to get rid of him. When my cousin's gf treated her like property and like she owes her something I urged her to find a better more nurturing person to be happy with.
Two men kissing is not endgame making, hell, from experience two men having sex (hot as it is) is not endgame making.
Love, passion, trust, security, fun, friends gatherings where they're cute and gross, can be made into a healthy endgame making relationship.
Buck and Tommy have physical attraction, they make for a steamy picture but nothing else.
And Lou, I am just... I don't know, I would have preferred not to find out the things he's done as cast of 911, I am just so disappointed.
I loved Lou, now it's just meh. Like he's trying to make as much money as he can before he finishes his way in the show is all kinds of wrong. Also very misleading to the ppl who are hanging on his every word. (And I don't think Oliver likes it either, he is pointedly ignoring any scene with T, not promoting anything that doesn't involve Eddie and Christopher or Buck's own development).
Even Ryan didn't know he was going to get shot until he got the 4x13 script, he was sure he was being killed off until he talked to whoever was showrunner at the time lol.
So Lou can't know he just talks out of his ass and make himself look bad in the process.
And I agree, ppl should be free to ship whoever they desire, but they are not entitled to force their desires upon others, I'm talking about both sides of the ships not just one. (Although I gotta say I've never got hate asks until a certain ship popped up this season. A lot of hateful - now blocked anons - that I refused to give stage to.)
These toxic battles are useless and made this season worse than it's writing.
All that's left is kick back and hope this season's last episode can salvage the poor and repetitive storylines we got this season, - I mean even Henren and Bathena got a replay of S4.
And don't even get me started of the fart shaped storyline Eddie got after switching last minute.
I'm tired lol
didn't mean for this to become this long monster, If you made it this far thank you, sending LOTS of love. ❤️
Oh God yes, I am so for Tommy being gone just to have people stop being stupid about Eddie. Which is a pitty because at first I was intrigued by Tommy. Now i just want it to end.
And lol at your tags. I have blocked so many people lately, too. Not even stupid takes during TK era made me block so much. Some of them really take the cake now. All this hate towards Eddie is staggering. And to have the audacity to call eddieblr toxic (and yes, I have seen that and not only buddies are being called toxic these days).
HI there,
I have to say that I was intrigued and even excited for Tommy at first too, but there were a lot of things that just ruined it along the way, amongst them the last minute joiners and Eddie haters fans who just set out to make this place unbearable.
I wouldn't have minded Tommy so much if not for all the toxicity that brought with it and the poor writing and the money for specs from Lou.
Like wth dude, didn't anyone teach you to be correct, you can't justify Tommy's behavior in S2 and pass it as teasing. It's like punching someone in the face in rage or nearly break someone's ankle for attention and call it roughhousing. (not joking, I literally had an ask with someone justifying the white man railroading the POC for attention as roughhousing. - When Buck himself said he wasn't sure it wasn't done on purpose. like wtf?)
lol I live for those tags, everyone say their real thoughts and be funny in tags, it's so much fun.
I literally bonded with that block button, I haven't blocked so many ppl since early S4 and the porn bots attack lol
Ppl need to chill, everyone is entitled to their opinions but are not entitled to force it upon others.
Ship who you want but tag properly and don't be toxic about.
A lot of ppl read X's posts and come to rant about it here, Tumblr is not X, most of the ppl here are ppl who hate X's toxicity. I have deleted my account so many years ago.
We are here to have fun, so I say ship who you want, TAG PROPERLY, and leave us the hell alone.
Eddie/Ryan haters are all blocked so thankfully I don't see those, but if after everything they still hate on Eddie for something Ryan apologized several times for, learned from it and has bettered himself to the point that Aisha posted a thankful for Ryan story once and they have so many pictures together where she hugs him like he's one of the most precious ppl to ever live, than I have to call pure racism.
And that would explain the sudden admiration to the new white man on screen to be paired with the other white man who is by chance also the fan favorite.
Don't get it twisted, I love Oliver and Oliver loves Ryan and Eddie, but one has to wonder about the audience's choice of favorite even as they call against racism and for equality and with the same breath hate on a regular poc character.
I'm hoping this bizarre season ends on a good note, because otherwise S8 may be the last season.
Keeping my fingers crossed.
