Comic #2,542! She's a very wholesome gamer. ;o;
A lot of the time, animal's will eat the fruit and plants when they are thirsty! Sometimes putting out a bucket or birdbath will stop them from stealing said fruits!
Good to know! I’ve thought about getting a bird bath but I know my ADHD butt would never remember to put in those tablets to prevent mosquitos and it is already mosquito city here. 😭
Comic #2,541! Me, before: "I don't mind if the animals eat one as a treat." Me, now: "BETRAYAL!!! YOU'VE ABUSED MY TRUST!!!"
Comic #2,540! I committed and couldn't back out now!
online communities are so strange because people slip away so easily. you can be on here for years, folding people you've never met into the fabric of your daily life, and then they disappear, leaving only ghost posts scattered across tumblr behind. or their blog stays dormant, for weeks, months, years, until you're only still following them because you remember that they love sunflowers or they were kind to you when they didn't have to be or the last thing they posted was sad and raw and you still worry about them sometimes.
and sometimes they come back when you least expect it, years later, even, and there's this sudden rush of relief like there you are, there you are, even though you barely knew each other.
there's a strange kind of love to it. i don't know you and i want to hold your hand across miles and time zones and oceans. i can still see the imprint of you in this community you left. you don't anyone will notice or care when you're gone, but we notice and we care and we wish you well.
i hope you're all okay out there. i hope the sun is shining on your face and you are breathing deeply. i miss you.
Comic #2,539! Like mother, like daughter.
Comic #2,538! An offer I couldn't refuse. 🙈
Comic #2,537! Praising someone else for behavior we want to see is also incredibly effective. 🤣
Comic #2,536! Our daughter is entering her Animal Fact Era™️ and I love that for her.
Comic #2,535! This is by no means the Full Story of things that have been going on, but a piece of it. (And I obviously cannot speak to my daughter's perspective; only my own as a parent.)
hey, i discovered your comics today and enjoy how honest and heartful they feel. i don't expect i'll read all 2,534(???) but i wanted to say that i enjoyed what ive read. thanks for sharing. it sounds like things have been rough lately, too, so i'd also like to wish you well. take care of yourself.
haha thank you. <3
I wouldn't worry about reading them all, especially with having months and year gaps over the last several. 🙃 They're just a moment captured in time and they don't all stay relevant to how things are and feel today, though are also sometimes enjoyable to reflect back on.
Comic #2,534! Kids be like, "How long does it take grown-ups to feel better? Like a minute?"
Comic #2,533! Noticing my child doing things right and thanking them for it has been the most rewarding thing in parenting for me. ♥️
Comic #2,532! The saga continues in an inevitable way. 🥲 (But it looks like I did nothing since the clutter is still there rip)
Comic #2,531! Logic: "A little goes a long way." My brain: "DO EVERYTHING OR IT'S A FAILURE!"
Comic #2,530! Me, crying in the doctor's office: "I have friends! I DO!!!" Doctor, writing furiously in their notes, "Uh-huh. Of course."
Comic #2,529! An additional "what I've been up to" post. I almost forgot how much joy can be in the creative process. 😭
