Zalo Prompt 5
First Prompt: Bath
Ya’ know how cats absolutely despise water?
Yeah, well, foxes are technically felines and trying to get them to bathe is like trying to find some lost pirate treasure; ya’ just can't do it.
And Nilo REALLY hates water; actually, it was more so the soap than anything else, and Zack was currently trying to catch his boyfriend.
“NILO RENAE FOX! YOU GET DOWN HERE AND IN THAT DAMN BATH RIGHT NOW MISTER!” Zack screamed, dashing after his taller partner who was currently hissing at him from the chandelier; god forbid how he got there.
“OVER MY GODDAMN DEAD BODY!” The brunette fox hissed, tail flaring up, which signified he was feeling threatened.
Zack glared with hot mocha eyes before spinning on his heel, stomping up the oak stairs of their home, “FINE! Have it your way!”
Nilo blinked his large azure eyes, but winced upon hearing their bedroom door slam shut. It took a minute for the sound to stop ringing in his ears before he jumped off the crystal chandelier onto the oak wooden floors, landing on all fours. Getting up, he sneakily rushed up the stairs towards their room, feeling guilty for making his precious lover angry at him.
Raising his hand to knock, he froze upon hearing soft crying on the otherside of the door. Lowering his hand, he leaned against the door, right ear against the panel while his left twitched.
He could hear Zack sobbing openly, which was unlike him because the Zack he knew was strong willed and polite, with just a pinch of determination to make it, well, Zack.
“Wh-Why doesn't h-he *sob* t-trust me?”
‘Zackery…’ Nilo’s ears flattened against his head, a quiet whimper escaping his lips.
“D-Does he not l-*sob*love me enough? D-Do I even m-mean anything to him?” Zack asked himself.
His words echoed through Nilo’s mind, ringing like the liberty bell as his eyes dialated.
“He… he thinks I don't love him? T-That I don't care?” The male asked, a look of utter heartbreak on his face. Suddenly, a look of resolve appeared on his face as he grabbed the door knob, cracking it open enough to peer inside to see Zack lying on their red velvet bed, sobbing into his hands.
Nilo’s eyes softened as he entered unnoticed, shutting the door silently behind him and walked over to his crying lover. He stood there for a moment before hopping onto the bed, frightening his boyfriend.
“Wha-?”
Nilo grabbed Zack’s face and softly kissed him, wringing his left hand onto the human's blue T-shirt while the other tangled into his soft chocolate locks.
They stayed that way for a good minute before pulling away, panting with flushed cheeks and half lidded eyes.
“Wha…. What was that?” Zack asked panting heavily, face flushed from both the surprise kiss and not breathing for so long.
Nilo was silent and brought up his left hand, wiping away some of the crystal tears in his lover's beautiful mocha eyes.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, he whispered ghostly, “I'm sorry.”
Zack blinked, “What?”
“I'm sorry,” Nilo repeated, rubbing Zack's face lovingly, “I'm sorry for making you feel as if I dont trust you; that I dont love you.” The human blinked softly before yawning, nuzzling into his fluffy boyfriend's warm hand.
“It's okay…”
“NO IT'S NOT!” Zack jumped at the outburst, staring at his lover in shock and surprise as he watched the fox build up tears, “Zack, I could never explain the things you make me feel. Its just a flurry of raw happiness, harmony and love, and there are times I feel so connected to you that i just can't take it! I feel your sadness, happiness, anger, love, and clarity in a whirlwind of emotions and GODDAMN does it make me wanna just twirl and kiss you until there's nothing but love and joy left!” Nilo ranted, before stopping, taking a shaky breath and grabbing Zack's hand, looking at him with such a loving and passionate gaze that his breath left him.
“I love you Zack. Only YOU, and nothing will ever change that.” He whispered, raw passion in his voice.
Zack stared for a moment before tackling Nilo off of the bed, sending a flurry of kisses to his face, “I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you.”
Nilo smiled and wrapped his hands around Zack's waist, kissing his lips softly, “Now that that's settled, wanna come take a bath with me?”
“Only if I get to brush your hair.” Zack responded.
Nilo smiled, pecking Zack's lips a final time, “Deal.”
