Meditations From The Mat
Just started reading the above book which I’ve heard so much about for so long. It was on my Kindle wish list for like ever and a couple weeks ago I had the brilliant realization that it would never actually be read if I didn’t purchase the damn thing first.
I haven’t gotten far but I’m already highlighting and this is the gem I read to my students this morning as they settled into Savasana for some Yoga Nidra.
“We are far now from home, and weary from our travels. The sun is setting and there is no destination in sight. Yoga is a lamp lit in the window of our home, dimly glimpsed across the spiritual wilderness in which we wander. At a time when we could not feel further from our home, yoga reminds us that we are already there, taht we need simply awaken from our dream of seperation, our dream of imperfection."
This really touched me and is just so beautiful that I wanted to share.
