BOYCOTT ANNOUNCEMENT: THIS BEVERAGE IS ILLEGAL!
Why, you may ask? I did ask.
This is basically a beverage that they would sell me in a smaller size, several times a day. Yet, when I want to order the largest size, they won't do it. Some Starbucks will, but they always tell me they're breaking the rules. My thought was then, is it the plastic the cup is made out of? What the hell is wrong with this cup that they will not make me a coffee the way I want in it? Why have a size only for “certain” drinks on the menu?
The barista told me it is a company policy because the amount of milk required to make a Trenti Macchiato is "an unhealthy amount of milk to consume daily"‼️
What really pisses me off about that stupid logic:
- First of all: I'm an adult… I can make my own food decisions. I do not need a corporation to decide what the right amount of anything is for me, especially my food.
- Second of all, I’m not asking for more milk. I’ve added shots and asked for extra ice. Get a clue - more milk is not my intent. Please do not feel obligated to fill the damn cup up with milk - I paid for a Venti with extra shots!
- Finally, what really makes this an unhealthy beverage is the fact that Starbucks does not offer ORGANIC MILK.
This has bothered me for quite some time. I've signed petitions, emailed people… But apparently the only way to really get anything done is to put my money where my mouth is and speak out about why I've made this choice.
I'm officially putting it out here that: I am boycotting Starbucks until they carry organic milk. What you are seeing now was my last Starbucks beverage until this happens. They're losing a shit ton of money from me right now… But I guess in reality it’s a drop in the deep well of money that Starbucks seems to have. I know I'm not the only one asking for this option. And what do they add to the menu? A very poorly made, non-organic coconut milk that is marketed by Starbucks instead of obtained from an already existing fair trade company. That is just not good enough!
