Whumptober 2020: Day 29
Link took a deep breath and held it, letting his eyes open tentatively.
It was dark, so dark. He almost wondered if something far worse had happened to him and he’d lost his sight.
“You’re awake!” Zelda breathed beside him.
He groaned, letting out a pained noise as he tried to turn over.
Zelda’s hands were on him, holding him down. “Don’t. You were shot by an arrow. I got it out, I made sure to clean the wound. You didn’t bleed out, and it’s been about an hour now.”
He went to sit up this time, and was met by a frustrated look by Zelda and let her push him back down.
“Sorry,” he muttered, wincing as he laid back down. It took him a moment to realize that he was using her lap as a pillow, and he was shirtless.
He tried to sit up again.
“Link! Gods, stop it!” Zelda pushed him down. Again.
“Okay, okay.” He took another deep breath, though this one was much more difficult. “Did it hit anything?”
“Well… you.”
He scoffed. “Anything internal.”
