like. yeah. its obvious youve never engaged in genuine organizing! you think that these spaces "curate ideals" instead of being just like, a structure with resources you can use to further your political goals! obviously political organizations or unions may, individually, have "ideals" they aspire to or (try and) function by, but that is not the point of these things! they are RESOURCES, they are a FRAMEWORK for you to utilize to organize more efficiently and - more importantly - without needing to become friends with a bunch of people first!
obviously, yes, something like recruitment for a union depends on the ability to first make connections with people - but most people join a union or political organization first and foremost to utilize the structure and benefits it provides. you join a union for better pay. better healthcare. better regulation, better contracts. you join a political party for policy goals and political agreements. you are not there to make friends. you shouldnt be there to make friends, and you should not fucking base your organizing around friendship or ~hanging out~ non-politically! that's a terrible idea!
