You know those movies that make your heart ache when you’re finished? You’ve wanted to watch it for so long, that when you do, its beauty just leaves you feeling… I don’t know, nostalgic when it’s over. I’m a big fan of Alexander Siddig, ever since I saw him in Kingdom of Heaven, so this movie was on the top of my ‘to watch list’ from the moment I heard of its production. Now I can cross this sad, emotional affair of a movie off my to do list.
1. Everybody watch this must-watch great movie “Cairo time”. It is poetry on screen 2. Please someone tell Sid to stop getting prettier, i can’t, i can’t… 3. Am i the only one who thinks this man has the most beautiful profile ever??
Nope. You are not alone, my friend. Take comfort in that. Sid fans unite and be comforted! Okay, so I had to get that off my chest.
Cairo Time (2009)
MOVIE REVIEW Cairo Time Rating: ★★★★☆ The wife of a diplomat awaits her husband’s arrival for their vacation in Cairo, when an unexpected attraction develops. This is a film you must take the time to watch. It has a slower pace, but it’s purposefully done so to really indulge in this story, the setting, and the characters. With TV shows changing their shots every 3 seconds, and films always needing action to maintain the interest of the audience — this is a refreshing film away from all that, and captivating in the soothing essence of what this film carries. Shot on location, it’s great getting to explore Cairo through this film. Patricia Clarkson and Alexander Siddig are remarkable together, and through their subdued performances - there’s so much more told in what’s not said. Ruba Nadda does a wonderful job in writing and directing a beautiful film.
He's so gorgeous. Sheesh.
Cairo Time! If you haven’t seen this, you’re missing out! Alexander Siddig getting his pretty little behind kicked in a game of chess by a blonde woman ^^ ofcourse we all know outside the movie he would win ;)
Cairo Time
I love this movie
Ditto. Me too. My mother would have loved it too, but on the trip to see her this past summer, where I'd packed the movie, she died the day before we were to arrive. I know she would have loved it and would squee with me about Sid.
“I always wanted to be a singer”
“What stopped you?”
“My voice”

Movies You Should Watch
Part I.
Cairo Time. It’s so good, and portrays the little things that have immense importance to individuals, but that we all know ‘doesn’t matter’ in the grand scheme of things. Yeah, it’s a bit problematic, but even so it’s worth a watch.
Just seeing Alexander Siddig larger than life on the big screen was all I needed, but it is a very good film and won several awards.
