I wanted to bring this to Tumblr, because I follow Castle WetPaint on Twitter, for the same reason one might watch a mind-numbing reality show. It's utterly useless, yet I can't look away. As a journalist, I'm not sure whether WetPaint makes me want to laugh or cry. I could unfollow them, sure. But then what ever would I do for my daily dose of masochism?
Aside from the vaguest reporting I've ever seen (and not cryptically vague, either; more like a high-school report bullshat by a senior who overslept), kudos for all the times they link their followers to the incorrect articles. That's my favorite special part.
I could go into many more reasons why this site cannot call itself a decent TV news outlet, but I'm lazy, so just have some screencapped tweets.
