we were all forced to read “classics” in school so reblog and put the one you actually ended up liking a lot and the one you can’t fucking stand in the tags

my fave is Lord of the Flies and I ironically enough want to burn every copy of Fahrenheit 451. trash

#I ended up loving #The Great Gatsby #but it didn't kick in until years later; like last year I just went ''oh...I wanna buy that now''#and there were several that did absolutely nothing for me at all #but one I remember off the top of my head is #Lord of the Flies #also? I discovered in college that I hate reading Shakespeare. I LIKE Shakespeare; I just don't wanna read the scripts #sucks the life right out of it and makes it tedious for me; I'd rather watch a movie or production #'cause like...why do we even READ the scripts anyway? we don't do that with anyone else. that's not a huge thing people do for a reason #plays are meant to be seen not read #also I had an absolutely awful professor who sucked all potential enjoyment out of every last interaction with the text so #yeahp #reading #personal
