Something that's been kind of bothering me.

Matthew Lewis' twitter was hacked today. And the hacker put out a tweet that claimed Matt was gay. Now here is what bothers me: Most hackers have 1 of 2 reasons for doing what they do: They either want to tarnish that person's name and make that person look bad or ruin them somehow OR they want a little fame and to be noticed, so they make some silly joke.

So basically, out of all the things this hacker could have posted, he or she thought Matt being gay was either something bad or a joke that should be laughed at. And quite frankly, I don't see it as either. In fact, when the tweet was posted and some people thought it was actually Matt, I went to the Matthew Lewis tag. And saw a whole bunch of people going :'Oh, he can't be gay' and lots of 'Oh, but we were going to get married. he's not gay, I love him'. Yea, I don't care if you are joking. If an actor does choose to come out (this was a big deal with Zachary Quinto just a few days ago), making jokes like that aren't even remotely funny. They actually come off as offensive.

Basically, what I'm saying is, there is nothing wrong with someone being gay. And if Matt was gay, I would be ashamed of half the people posting on his tag today. And I'm sure he would have too. And to the hacker who thought it was a funny joke: It really fucking wasn't.

A Horror fan rant, of sorts.

Being a horror fan can suck sometimes. Because it's a genre that isn't taken very seriously by a lot of people in the industry, it gets pushed the back burner a lot. And because of this, the amount of horror we get each year is dreadfully low. Look at this, it's October, the month of horror and Halloween and terror. The month where horror movies should be filling the theatres and the only ones I can think of that are out are The Thing and Paranormal Activity 3 comes out soon. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. 2 big movies, both of which aren't really that big and have hardly been advertised. One's a prequel/remake of sorts, and ones a sequel. There is so little originality in this genre and so few big budget, awesome horror movies that it's sad. Horror fans have to go out and search for good horror, for B-movies and straight-to-DVD movies. The problem with that is, you never know what you are getting. Thankfully, in this genre, word of mouth is big and a lot of the good horror movies get passed around and get at least some attention. But I just don't think it's enough.  It's hard being a horror fan sometimes. It really is.

Okay, I'm changing my mind..I'm not giving up on shipping all together. I'm staying for these..
