GUYS GUYS GUYS guys HELP ME FIND THS ANIME

It's about this short ass dude and his assistant having an agency of sorts to go on and exorcise ghosts and spirits. and like the main antagonist is the short dude's former classmate and best friend who went insane and also had feelings for the short dude. They use a magical book to exorcise ghosts and spirits as well, and there's this thing called Judges and artifactor(?)

Why I think that Mana was in fact truly an Akuma and not some form of false memory

Dgm is filled with mysteries and paradoxes, and the relationship between Mana and the Earl of Millennium is one of those. On the surface, it is contradictory that Mana could have been turned into an Akuma when he is later revealed to be the Earl. However, the narrative provides subtle hints that may reconcile this paradox. (Bear with me guys)

1. Dual Identities and the Split of the Earl

The Earl of Millennium isn't a singular, static entity, this we already know. Over 52 or so years ago, Adam split himself into two infants in front of Katerina who would adopt and name the infants 'Mana' and 'Nea', raising them as twins. Mana and Nea were both integral parts of the Noah family, and there's this suggestion that Mana might have been a vessel of Adam's memories and thus was the one who became the Earl of Millennium while Nea could not, because he likely lacked something. When Mana lived as Allen’s foster father, he have suppressed/lost his memory of being the Earl due to his grief-stricken mind and deteriorating mental state. This allowed him to exist as a separate individual while being consciously aware of the Earl's existence.

2. The Akuma Creation Mechanism

The Akuma creation process involves a soul being bound to a body after someone calls it back from death. If Mana’s "human side" died and was mourned by Allen, the Akuma process could have targeted only that fragment of Mana’s identity. If the Earl of Millennium that appeared in front of Allen is indeed Mana at that time yet still present for when "Mana" was turned into an Akuma, there's a possibility that the Earl at that time was simply the Golem Suit, Mana himself but his body usurped or, as mentioned above, because the Akuma is Mana's human side.

3. Mana’s actions as an Akuma

The corrupted Mana attacks Allen, since his human persona was overridden by the Akuma’s violent instincts. However, his plea for Allen to "keep walking forward" does suggest that Mana's original personality wasn’t entirely lost. One is free to think of Allen's cursed left eye, which gives him the ability to see the souls of the Akuma, is a punishment but i saw a theory that the eye is the Earl's eye(?? I forgot the exact wording or speculation/theory but I got some of it from: @poppystheories ) although in a sense that Mana's curse serves to warn Allen of the presence of Akuma, of the tortured souls and also of the fact that the Earl's "arms and legs" (or was it "eyes and ears"?) are near. And we know from Alma that Akuma are offshoots of the Earl, which is how he knew that Allen was a Noah.

4. Foreshadowing and Symbolism

Hoshino frequently employs themes of duality and identity in DGM. Mana’s transformation into an Akuma while also being the Earl symbolizes the conflict between the Noah and humanity, as well as the tragic cycle of grief and that drives the story. This paradox could serve as a microcosm of the series’ central conflict, also the duality of having humanity and an inhumane identity can also be seen in this.

In Short: Mana’s transformation into an Akuma despite being the Earl of Millennium is because Allen called for Mana Walker rather than his Noah identity as the Earl of Millennium. Thus why the Akuma Mana could exist at the same time as the Earl's, his curse also have warned and er- "protected"? Allen more than once. It's also undermining if the Akuma summoned by Allen turned out to be some rando soul that the Earl used, since it doesn't make sense. The only plausible reason my mind could come up with is that the Akuma Mana summoned was the human aspect known and remembered by Allen.

You know how Hoshino and everyone always calls Allen a hypocrite? Someone who says something but then does the opposite himself.

‘Hypocrite’ had another meaning years ago. Literally (from greek), ‘the person behind the mask’, an actor.

And it made me think of ‘Mana’s Mask’.

And I wanna punch something.

UMMM if the theory that apocryphos merged old Allen and old bookman junior is true, that would make present Allen a bookman, exorcist, AND a Noah. Both sides of the holy war AND the supposedly neutral party all trapped in one person. TRULY the most morally ambiguous character…….dare I say the gray man………hoshino you madwoman

It's a small detail amidst the craziness that is the rest of 252, but I'm losing my absolute mind at the fact that Past Allen was apparently soldier.

We just had it confirmed that our protagonist, our child soldier protagonist, had a whole previous life that he lived and completely forgot about. He had a whole first life where, until he was at least an older teenager, he had nothing to do with the inescapable holy war that's taken over his existence the second time around. He was just some kid with no connection to the battle between the Noah and the Black Order.

But what was he instead? Was he free to actually have a childhood in this other life?

Nope! He was just a normal soldier in some non-spiritual, completely mundane war, and he would have died in battle if Nea hadn't swept in and drafted him into the holy war instead. There is no life in which the young Allen is not a soldier.

People talking about parallels but can we talk about the parallels between nea showing up before past allen and the earl showing up before mini allen. Both when he lost everything in such violent ways and was all alone and they were both a saving grace at the start

Allen's in serious trouble. He was already in bad shape from everything that's happened so far, considering the hits to the head he's taken and bite Krory took out of him. But just as he can't find the strength to continue fighting...

My first thought was: Allen's Innocence has activated on its own again! But that’s wrong; it doesn't seem to be activated. Something just made Allen's hand move to catch the axe.

A certain someone has awoken!

Do you believe in the "Road is Katerina" theory? Personally I don't... It just, doesn't click well?

- 🤷❓

Tbh I also don't think the same way, in fact I have a whole ass argument up on my sleeves on why the theory just straight up confuses me. My friend also agrees with me and kinda brought up some things about it as well.

Considering how the theory seemed to be somewhat popular and resolute with others, I will just say that the first time I read it. I fucking hated it and I'm (not) sorry about it. If you guys have some things to say to me about it then click off this post since this entire post is about why this theory does not make sense and why people like me don't like it that much.

Here's the reasons why I do not agree to the "Road is Katerina" theory:

1. Character Contradiction:

The most obvious and prominent one that I placed focused on, Road and Katerina have distinct, well-established personalities and roles throughout the series. And while Katerina barely appeared, her very few appearances actually gave us a good grasp of her character that obviously contradicts Road. Road has been portrayed as a playful yet dangerous character with a very complex relationship and backstory, we don't know much about her but her character reveals so far much of her playful and erratic personality who also cares deeply for her family, in spite of her sadism. Katerina, on the other hand, seemed more reserved and an relatively different kind of character, both in terms of demeanor and emotional connections. The personalities don't align well, and forcing them to be the same person feels like a disservice...

2. Narrative Consistency:

There’s no substantial narrative or hint in the story that supports that Road is secretly Katerina/Katerina is Road's body. As far as I am concerned, Road does care deeply for Mana and Nea and so does Katerina but that's it. Also the close relationship with Road and Earl is actually something that I may have an idea about (I promise guys I'll make a separate post about this). If Katerina were Road in disguise, it would undermine the carefully crafted tension and mystery around Road's motives and identity. The reveal would feel abrupt and out of place without any buildup or subtle foreshadowing. If anything, I support that Road's real body is in the Campbell Residence but I don't think that she and Katerina are the same.

3. Unclear Motivations:

Road is motivated by loyalty to Earl and her family and is willing to embrace destruction for their sake, while Katerina's are entirely unknown and so far have not been revealed. If they were the same person, it would be hard to reconcile these differing motivations and character drives, especially since Katerina has been shown zero hints of any hidden agenda, which is a stark contrast to Road.

4. Emotional Disconnect:

Ok first of all, I agree that Yes! Road cares deeply for Mana and Nea and that Katerina does as well (she's literally their mom guys). But, the bond between them feels... Different, at least to me. Katerina has this motherly affection and love for Mana and Nea, and her relationship with Adam is close yet it does remains a mystery (avid believer that they were very very close). Road also love Mana and Nea but her relationship with them felt different, idk how to put into words but her familial love for them feels different but they're family so that's all I'm gonna say. The theory would make Katerina’s feelings for Adam difficult to explain if she were secretly Road and vise verse. The emotional investment and connections wouldn't make sense if the character were hiding such a major secret.

5. Logical Issues:

From a purely logistical standpoint, the theory heavily leans on speculation and identical relationships three key characters (Adam, Mana and Nea). How could Katerina possibly be Road when we know absolutely very little of her? The distinct differences in mannerisms, and background makes it incredibly hard for me to believe the theory. Plus, Katerina’s interactions with other characters — like with Adam, Mana and Nea, and even her possible connection with Cross (Dgm ch. 245) — would be inconsistent if she were Road.

And finally my last reason is that — Hoshino's writing. Listen, there's so many things that I love about Dgm. like from the art-style, storyline, gut-wreaching backstories and also Allen 💖💕. But I would absolutely be livid if Katerina and Road turned out to be the same person.

To summarize, as you said: it doesn't make click well (AKA does not make logistical sense to you). I don't agree with the theory because it feels like a forced connection that doesn’t line up with the characters' established identities and motivations. The personalities are different, the narrative doesn’t hint at such a twist, and the emotional stakes would fall apart. It doesn’t mesh with the world-building or the relationships we've seen so far.

This post should provide a solid basis on why the theory doesn't resonate with you. And honestly guys, you can believe whatever you want but some people just don't really like/understand it so...

Hm, so should Allen be considered a younger and differently conditioned version of Pasta or the fusion of him and P!Lavi? Technically, P!Lavi only repaired Allen's soul and body, while Allen's consciousness seemingly stayed intact. We didn't see much of their past personalities, but Pasta at least seemed compassionate enough, which is one of Allen's core traits. Maybe it is just that I recently saw The Substance and re-watched The Fly so the fusion of "people" suddenly intrigues me more lol But it would be conceptually interesting if Allen is a whole new person, and has to deal with that (too).

Spoilers for the movies, but

Allen is kind of Brundlefly (he didn't even "born" with the white hair!!) and the Earl is Sue and Elisabeth lol

jk one more theory before I go lol

The more I think about the past!Lavi becoming crown clown theory the more sense it makes.

1. At first, Allen couldn’t even move his innocence hand (as if it were a prosthetic added onto his body). Then, after he activated his innocence, it was incredibly unstable until he decided to stop fighting to die and start living for people and akuma, AKA he decided to start fighting to live period. After he made that declaration, he aligned more directly with his innocence’s wishes—Past Lavi’s wish for him to live! So his synchro rate increased.

2. Lucia mentioned that Past Lavi had shimmering silver hair just like our Allen’s. Our Allen mentioned his hair was chestnut until he activated his innocence. In a komui’s corner, Timothy explained after his hair turned green once his innocence activated, Allen told him his also changed color and he once tried to dye it, but it just changed back to silver—the same color as Past lavi’s!

3. Crown clown is unique in the ways it’s a defensive and offensive innocence. It has a white cape that wraps itself around Allen to protect him just like past!lavi once did for past!allen.

4. Of course, this is the most obvious point and one many have mentioned—crown clown actively protects Allen. It mended his heart post-Tyki and it plugged the wound Allen got from Kanda. Aka, it does everything it can to protect Allen.

Now I’m super on board with this idea. Especially because it also explains why Neah may have thought of past lavi when he saw Allen’s reflection for the first time AND why he seemed so bugged out by it. Aside from the whole Allen being young thing, since Allen has Past Lavi’s hair, his reflection likely gave Neah quite the jump-scare since our Allen looks like Past Lavi and Past Allen put together. And the last time Neah saw them both he probably saw them off before they traveled together. Which is also why he may have figured Allen had been reformed by apo!
