What happened to Anna?
Anna's fine, everyone! She's just taking a (long) hiatus, as most of us are.
Do you still write for Kelly or not?
Perhaps, you didn't mean to, but this ask came across a lot more aggressive than many of the asks sitting in my inbox.
I think as you can tell, I'm taking a long hiatus from writing in general.
Honestly, I know the fandom has gotten a lot quieter but a large part of that is the pressure of churning out fics and getting asks like this asking us why we aren't writing a certain character or the barrage of asks/requests which honestly is overwhelming for someone with anxiety (aka me).
If you followed me from before, I think you'll be able to tell that the best fics I've written are probably the ones that I took my time to write, to feel and to grow.
In short, I am and always will be a Kelly girl but I'm not actively writing at the moment.
Do you know any good One Chicago writers on here that you recommend

Is it possible to have a character that is a great nurse or doctor but when they’re unwell or sick or in pain they are just like any other patient or somehow they forget their medical knowledge or something like that due to whatever they have going on?
Yes, I'd go for this! I think it's possible that everything is just too overwhelming at the moment when they're sick or in pain. Or yknow high on morphine HAHA
This might sound really silly but do you have a template for chapter outlining for fics? Basically im new to writing and have an idea for a fic that has the potential to be a few chapters and I just need some ideas or suggestions on how to outline and plan the chapters, plot and storyline if that makes sense? Sorry if this sounds dumb or stupid!
Hi! (no question is silly)
I don't really have a template for this, but it kind of depends on the format of the multi-chapter you're working on! Usually I decide on the overall plot and the sequence of events before I even split them into chapters.
For example, for Pieces - I needed to have Y/N let her guard down a little (so a few events to show her Jay is trustworthy etc.) then slowly getting closer, getting tgt and things they go through together as a couple.
Usually I only decide where to end the chapter while I'm actually writing. So you should write the story based on the plot and what you want to lead up to!
Those who followed my series fics will tell you i have a thing for cliffhangers (oops) so that's an idea you can have later on when you're actually writing out the chapters.

Why was Will always short of cash ? He’s a doctor!
Pretty sure they addressed it as med school debt lol and I think there was all sorts of insurance and other things they needed to pay for as new doctors. The Halsteads were alright financially I guess, but pretty sure Will was paying everything out of pocket once he left Chicago especially since Pat was meh about Will even becoming a doctor
What tips do you have for writing Will and getting him and his personality, behavior and what else you think is necessary to get him accurate

So I've been getting this question repeatedly and not sure if it's the same anon but I've addressed questions like this before, and they're all filed under #resa.writing
Anyway! I have the exact same advice I gave when someone asked me about writing Matt. Write YOUR Will Halstead! I think a person's personality is multi-faceted and the people in their lives and their experiences bring out the best (or worst) in them.
Think about Will with /cough/Manning/cough/
There's no wrong way to write your character, so don't let anyone tell you otherwise! Fit your character into your story the best way possible but just remember there isn't only one way Will (or any character) would react to a situation. There are thousands of ways, just pick the one you feel adds quality and color to your story.
Also, grab a friend and maybe ask them what they think. Shoutout to my beta angel @seatsbythepit <3
