Finally, Dean looks at the demon. As loath as Dean is to admit it, he is still beautiful—blood stains perfectly tanned skin, his blue eyes remain vibrant and alert no matter how much pain Dean inflicts, and dark hair wet from blood, sweat and holy water is beginning to form cute little curls. Those brilliant sapphire blue eyes regard Dean as he approaches and plush lips slowly curve into a smile. Dean watches him carefully—the trap he’s in the centre of is supposed to be extra strong, reinforced by the metal hexagram the demon’s chained to, but Dean wouldn’t put it past this bastard to find a way to escape. He’s proven to be slippery during the months Dean has spent hunting him down. The demon doesn’t flinch when the knife presses a few inches under his ribs, the tip just shy of slicing into skin. “You’re gonna let my brother out of his contract,” Dean growls, using the little bit of height he has on the demon to glare down at him. The demon merely raises an eyebrow. “Oh, I will, will I?” Dean answers by sticking the knife deep into his stomach. The demon shrieks, his head thrown back. The whole room shakes, Dean’s bones rattling in sympathy, and one of the lights overhead explodes, showering sparks down onto the floor. Still, the trap holds, and eventually, the scream ends. The demon looks at Dean, his blue eyes now black. Dean can feel every twitch of his muscles and every contraction of his organs through the knife still embedded in his belly.

Grieving, Dean purchases a hoarder house with Bobby's life insurance money. As he works his way through the hoard, battling ghosts and cursed objects, he comes across a starburst clock--and is immediately impaled on its super-sharp spines. But Dean can't let a gorgeous machine like that go unrepaired. The fact that the clock is also an Angel of the Lord who manifests in Dean's dreams and looks really, really good in a chiton is a bonus.
