Freddie sniffled quietly, a frown appearing on his face and John quickly pressed a kiss to his temple, whispering to him that he would be back soon before gesturing Roger who caught onto the situation and cuddled up to him, soothingly rubbing his sides. 

“Are you feeling alright?” John asked Brian quietly. 

Brian only sighed as an answer, not fully back as it seemed and John kissed him too, then quickly made his way into the bathroom where he had stored a blanket inside the dryer to keep it at a nice and toasty temperature exactly for this situation. It smelled fresh and he brought it to Freddie, wrapping him up in it. He made another short trip to the kitchen and fetched two water bottles for the subs along with some granola bars. 

Brian had apparently dropped too, sitting up in the bed with the blanket wrapped around him and just stared at the mattress while Roger had his hand on his shoulder, speaking softly to him. John climbed back onto the bed and wrapped his arm around Brian, pulling him flush against him. He immediately hid his face in his neck. 

It took a little bit of coaxing to get him to drink something while Freddie took the food and drinks and nibbled at the granola bars pretty enthusiastically but at least he was eating them. He brushed a strand of Brian’s hair out of his face, kissed his cheek and passed him a granola bar. 

“Do you want a bath?” 

Brian thought for a moment before nodding and Freddie nodded too. He and Roger exchanged a look and then John took Freddie from him, letting him cuddle close while Roger got up to draw them a nice, hot bath.

“If you make it in half an hour, we’ll gag you for the rest of the evening because this is supposed to make you really think about why you should not break the rules instead of acting like a bratty, spoiled little slut.” 

Freddie sighed and reached for the pen.

Freddie figures it out pretty early, when he is around 19/20 and Roger comes not long after that at 19 because he and Freddie are already dating at this point and after Freddie tells him he is interested in BDSM, Roger tries it out with him and finds out he enjoys it, too. 

John figures it out during his time at university at 22. 

Brian is the latest of the bunch, coming to the realization at 26.

They do! I just wanted something uniform for the club since collars are- sometimes/most of the time/idk?- something rather special between Subs and Doms and can be very unique and sometimes very subtle. Also, maybe a sub doesn’t like collars or an outfit doesn’t allow a collar for whatever reason. And I was also thinking about what a Switch does wear to indicate they are a Switch and so on. But collars are definitely worn too.

I think that sounds great! Something that stands out so maybe bright colors so everyone can spot it easily, even when the person wears fetish wear. 

Roger does get annoyed by being constantly mistaken for a sub but he also does not want to be thrown out so he does leave it by a few curses, even if he really wants to punch the obnoxious ones.

They do have their doubts at taking an inexperienced temporary partner but they also remember being new and insecure about the whole thing. Freddie also thinks that having a fellow sub by his side could help Brian. 

John (and Roger) just sees someone who doesn’t really know where to start and wants to help Brian and make sure he knows how BDSM is supposed to work.

It takes a while since Brian only has a faint idea of what he wants. Some things they find out pretty quickly (even before their first play session together), some stuff only comes up after months and completely by accident. But I would say after a couple of months, they have a pretty good idea of what Brian likes and doesn’t like.

The piece I’m writing for Poly!Queen Week is happening when the four are in an established serious, long-term relationship because the other piece I’m writing for this AU covers the prompt fill as well as some more time.

I was thinking about color coded wristbands for the club or some kind of jewelry or tag you can attach somewhere like the upper arm or something equally easily visible (bc maybe the sub is wearing wrist cuffs or something similar for a scene). 

And yes, Roger does get mistaken for a sub a lot.

I imagine them all being between 24-28 somewhere (I haven’t fully decided yet) and Roger and Freddie as childhood friends turned lovers who slowly discover their kinky sides.
