Hey just wondering how NB shaded Liam ? I didn't quite get that one, probably something I've missed...
The “replace this” tweet can be read as a response to this, in the same way that NB tends to keep everything vague enough that when shit like this happens, he gets to act like he never started anything. I’m not gonna die on the HE CAME FOR LIAM hill, mainly because I think “replace this” is a fucking nasty sentiment regardless of what prompted it and I don’t need to think it’s about Liam to hate it. Like, if it’s meant to be in response to Liam (the only recent instance I’ve been aware of in which ANYONE ANYWHERE talked about replacing Zayn), then there’s a lot more in play for me, most notably DEFEND LIAM AND DESTROY ANYONE WHO WOULD HARM HIM bc I am who I am, but also, like…Liam has been the ONLY thing Zayn has had going for him in terms of positive 1D-based messaging? Liam is the ONLY ONE who has talked about missing him and still being on good terms with him, and “replace this” as a jab at something that Liam specifically said was him trying to make light of something that MADE HIM SAD (again, more than the frankly telling NOTHING the rest of the band has come up with, which is not a knock on any of them, just a fact) would be bad enough coming from NB, let alone Zayn retweeting it.
But okay. NB keeps it vague as hell. LET’S SAY IT’S NOT ABOUT LIAM. “Replace this” is still remarkably shitty, maybe all the worse for being unprompted? Like, if it’s not in response to anything, is that just the general attitude? “REPLACE THIS.” Hahaha, yeah, stick it to those assholes from…One…Direction. Hope those jerks have been having fun dealing with all this shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kind of a shitty thing to do, when your whole justification for bailing with no notice smack in the middle of tour is that it was personally necessary that you remove yourself from that level of notoriety, to then gloat about the mess you left for them to clean up. Kind of a far cry from “I know they will continue to be the best band in the world.”
