Taron Egerton attends the European premiere of ‘Eddie The Eagle’ at Odeon Leicester Square on March 17, 2016 in London, England.
So here’s the Twitter thread I just made about Slash, the Kickstarted film ostensibly about slash fandom that you guys backlashed against last year.
I believe that the Slash PR person only remembered the embargo against reviews prior to SXSW after I made my original, now-deleted, set of tweets because she hoped that once the flood of inevitable praise for the film lands after SXSW, my review (which hasn’t been published yet) will get lost in the shuffle.
So thanks to everyone who’s been linking to my thread on Twitter above. Here it is on Tumblr for anyone who wants to reblog it.
“…the only way for fandom to have any story about fandom told accurately is for us to tell it ourselves.”
FLIP! ALL! THE! TABLES!
You know, for about two months after we finished shooting, my mother kept going, ‘Stop doing the Eddie face!’

JUST LEAVE ME HERE TO DIEEEEEEE

Oh no but now my heart is also broken! :( Poor Eggsy. (Also poor Harry, a bit. But mainly poor Eggsy.)
augh, same. Help me think of something equally as heart-breaking but that can also end happily.
Okay, hmm. How about:
It starts pretty much the same as the unrequited love ficlet. Harry is MIRACULOUSLY ALIVE. Eggsy is rocking the Kingsman thing. They’re getting closer, they tell each other everything, they’re fantastic together on missions, Harry is the happiest he’s ever been, Eggsy blossoms and beams. On one fateful mission they kiss. IT IS BEAUTIFUL. FLOWERS BLOOM, ANGELS SING, BIRDS SUDDENLY APPEAR.
They’re really together, really in love, really happy.
For a while.
