I am (tentatively) back. There will probably be many changes especially to my main pages which no longer reflect much of my thinking, a lot of clean up generally, but this will continue to be a pagan faith blog, and possibly also a diviner/witchcraft blog.

Wow I have lost lots of followers! Which makes sense because I’ve all but abandoned this blog, tumblr, and blogging in general for the past 2-3 years. No hard feelings.
A lot of my beliefs have changed and I’m no longer a witch/mage. I’m still some kind of pagan and clearly the universe is still interested in keeping touch but I don’t know how to listen anymore. Maybe it’s a call to come back maybe not.

The Seed. a tarot spread for ostara.
1. The Soil.
Where have you grown? While it most certainly is the dawn of a new day, keep in mind your roots are proof that you have already come a long way. The soil is your past. What lesson can you learn from days gone by?
2. The Weed.
You wish to flourish and grow strong, but there is undoubtedly something that is stunting your progress. What are your obstacles, what’s holding you back?
3. The Seed.
Within your immediate future, which area of your life will you first see signs of growth? Which seed has taken hold?
4. The Sun.
The love and support of others is helpful. But the will to grow comes from within. Let the sun be a reminder of what you need to keep in mind in order to help yourself grow.
5. The Rain.
A blessing in disguise. Understand that not all things are always as they seem. Grey skies can sometimes bring you down, but like the sun, rain too is necessary. Through struggle, you will find strength. What blessing in disguise is upon your horizon?
I know it’s been a couple weeks, but this is a good spread any other time too! Some of us may even feel right now is better than then with the plague and economy and everything. Upheaval can be a great time to take root as a seed.

tarot cards have set meanings, yes, but each deck has different depictions that change the meaning slightly (colors, images, directions, etc. can change the way it is interpreted), and your intuition should influence the reading. your first interpretation of the cards is what your gut is telling you. trust it. there are many ways to interpret any set of cards you draw, so listen to that little voice in your head. it knows best.
So much this, and honestly I find deck differences can create quite large differences in meaning. Once I get to know a deck I often favor it, or feel called to it, for particular types of readings because those differences can make an entirely different reading which makes all the difference. Then there’s also the whole, not all decks are Rider-Waite based, which can make the difference of nearly throwing assumption out the window.
But still, your intuition more than anything IS the reading. Even if it doesn’t exactly match what the booklet says. YOU are also a tool through which these messages are being delivered; you are in fact the primary tool! If you draw a card and immediately have a strong notion that it represents a particular someone or something otherwise unspecified, that’s what it is. Anytime I’ve tried to interpret otherwise for any reason after, has ultimately been wrong.
Divination is not a philosophy class. Don’t overthink something if you already have the answer. You already have the answer. Use it.
I have a pendulum I love but have never really used. I guess just because I could never figure a way to use it I felt was right. I kind of liked a circular ouija board design once that I thought might be good, but still wasn’t enough to say, inspire me to make or buy one.
Well, now I’ve got it. I’ve really got it. Just popped into my head, just now. It’s going to be perfect. Simple but enough. It will take some time to make, maybe a month but so, so worth it. All meanings covered, and some differences for left-hand/right-hand use and northern/southern hemisphere so the meanings still hold to the associations by simply turning the board. It’s going to be beautiful.
