Muslims misreading the Barbie posters might be the funniest thing I’ve seen today
Daily reminder that Mother Teresa was a shitty person who said that AIDS was god’s punishment to gay people for being gay and that pain brought people closer to god so she didn’t upgrade the awful conditions of her clinics.
She died with $100 million in multiple bank accounts.
Her clinics had to REUSE NEEDLES DURING THE AIDS EPIDEMIC BECAUSE OF HER. She was a glorified serial killer.
She had nuns secretly “baptize” Hindus and Muslims as they were dying while pretending to pat their heads with wet rags.
She got top notch medical care when she needed it, but again, her patients weren’t being cared for properly and she told them to their faces that they had to suffer like Jesus. She didn’t have to suffer, though. Paraphrasing this conversation between her and a dying patient:
MT: your suffering is because Jesus is kissing you.
Man suffering: can you ask him to stop kissing me?
MT: 🥰🥰🥰🥰
(she didn’t get that he was angry for what she was saying)
Not sure why she was considered a Saint but I suppose you can buy a sainthood.
She also embezzled money for the poor into nunneries.
This is ✨IT✨
YOUR god’s “plan for human life…”
They wrote a 20 page essay to tell people more stuff they shouldn’t do bc the pope thinks it’s weird and wrong 🙄

i remember adults telling me, as a kid, to listen to doctors and get my flu vaccine and any shots i could because they remembered Before.
then they started fighting Covid precautions.
i remember adults telling me, as a kid, that the ozone was disappearing and the earth was dying and we needed to recycle and save the planet.
now my parents think climate change is a myth.
i remember adults telling me, as a kid, that racism was a plague, that we had to love and accept everyone, that we should never judge before walking a mile in their shoes.
then they told me that protesting for my Black siblings was wrong.
i remember adults telling me, as a kid, that we needed to give to the poor. working at soup kitchens. making quilts. collecting food and money and supplies. building houses. because it was the christian and just plain right thing to do.
now they look at me, on food stamps with their grandchildren, and lament the "welfare state".
i remember adults telling me, as a kid, that it was easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven and that any rich man, especially an immoral one, should never run our country.
you can guess who they voted for.
i remember adults telling me, as a kid, so very much.
when did they forget?
Time to bring this back. Again.
Apparently this is evergreen. Dammit.
I remember adults telling me, as a kid that girls can be equal to boys in all fields including athletics. Now, they consider girls to be delicate flowers who could never hope to compete against boys.
"Parent's rights" is as much of a red flag to me as "Family values". When you examine what people actually mean by these terms it always boils down to the usual "the family is a system of domination and many parents want even more control and violence within it".
It is very much like when people say they support "State's rights" (to slavery), as some in the notes have pointed out.
Sometimes it also means the parental right to keep child marriage legal.
why is religious Christmas imagery all so joyful and pleasant? where is the inherent horror of the birth of Christ? A mother is handed her newborn child, wailing and innocent. Her hands come away sticky. Red. Simply by giving her son life she has already killed him. He is doomed from the beginning. Her love will not save him from suffering. Because the thing cradled in her arms is not a baby, it is a sacrifice: born amongst the other bleating animals whose blood will one day be spilled in the name of what demands it. the night is silent with anticipation. Mary, did you know? That your womb was also a grave?
Why do racists not fear God?
Because the church can't call out abuse or racism.
The patriarchal church needs white male supremacy.
So that's that. 💖 [x]
Religious and secular people alike will talk a lot of talk about how they feel sympathy for people with religious trauma and suppprt us but as soon as one as us has the audacity to display one of the more negative and uglier symptoms of religious trauma, we get completely demonized, tone policed and degraded for it. The expectation that people with religious trauma have to be constantly palpable to outside observers, especially religious ones, is harmful and unhelpful and only serves to cater to the feelings of the very people who would rather silence us.
im gonna be real i do think we need to spend more time as a society encouraging adults to play pretend in structured ways bc what i’m getting from a variety of sources is we all like to make fake shit and pretend to be people we are not
No fr adults would be a lot healthier if their need for play was more easily satisfied. Play is a fundamental human need that does not go away when we exit childhood but it’s treated as childish and frivolous. No bitch that’s how we process our experiences and knowledge and practice emotions of all kinds in a safe space!! Learn how to play again!
what bugs me about it is every other animal on earth engages in play behaviors all the time. for their entire lives. yet for humans for some reason play isn’t considered normal once you’re a certain age? come on bro. crows are rolling down peoples windshields and sheep are jumping on trampolines. go have fun too
I was wondering why this sounded incredibly familiar. Like, I know, it’s a common discourse, from whatever angle, but there was something nagging.
It’s Puritan.
KJV -
1 Corinthians 13:10
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
Ouch you used kjv that shit is fucked up
I’m 33 and American. This myth is so widespread here I didn’t know the truth until I was TWENTY-NINE. I was literally taught something similar IN COLLEGE—that the Puritans were so reactionary in America as a result of what happened to them in England. And this was in a class about the history of witchcraft accusations and the Salem witch trials. Like, we were taught that they were horrible HERE, but the narrative was still that they faced injustice in England.
This wasn’t a stupid teacher, either. She had her first doctorate and was pursuing a second. Basically everything else I learned in that class checks out. The myth just runs THAT DEEP.
Yep. :/
