Sorry if I’m ruining the joke but here’s the explanation picture by picture.
1. The US elections were going on on November 5th. Crazy shit. We were trying to get Trump out of office and everyone was shitting bricks
2. There’s this show called Supernatural and people have been shipping the mains (I think) Dean and Cas for like EVER and so the finale was airing during the US elections and it turns out that destiel, as the ship is called, is actually canon but right after the big love confession they yeeted Cas into Superhell, making the whole thing pretty damn homophobic. Also the scene was insanely awkward and weirdly shot, probably because of covid.
3. Nevada was kind of slow with their vote counting and since everyone was shitting themselves waiting for the election results to come out, Tumblr and the internet started to meme on them.
4. I have no idea what was going on with the Sherlock thingie but I’d assume people went nuts because I know that the Tumblr LOVED Sherlock. It was kind of an old fandom revival with the whole Supernatural thing going on.
5. There were these letters from the Zodiac Killer that were written in code and they were FINALLY decoded and he spelled paradise wrong (paradice I think) and then Ted Cruz made a joke about it on twitter (because heehaw everyone thinks he’s the Zodiac Killer)
6. Based on the vote count, Donald Trump was losing and he was crapping himself and attempting to get the vote counting stopped. His followers went out and protested I think and attempted to literally stop the counting of votes. Also there were widespread accusations of voter fraud which were false but led to a bunch of recounts, only delaying the inevitable.
