...Wait, depending on the date this photo was taken, this might have been me. I'm 95% sure I recognize that carpeting and the layout of that entryway.

So while I was unemployed the majority of my income was through a pet walking/sitting app. I didn't actually stay at people's houses, I just came in once or twice a day to feed the pets, let the dogs run around the backyard, clean the cats' litter boxes, etc. I liked booking the vacation sitting jobs because it was guaranteed money for the week and in this case there were two cats so I got paid extra.

I SEARCHED THE WHOLE HOUSE FOR THIS CAT AT LEAST THREE TIMES. I all but tore the place apart looking for her. I was warned that she was very shy and skittish, but the owner told me all her favorite napping spots so I could check them. Nothing. Never saw so much as a rustle of curtains as she sped away. All I wanted to do was confirm that she wasn't injured or had gotten outside or anything. She had her own food that the owner said the other cat wouldn't eat, and that food was getting eaten, so I assumed she was coming out to eat when I wasn't there, but I didn't want the people to come home and oops turns out she had a stroke and died. Since they never wrote me after they got home to give me any bad news, I told myself she was fine, and if this is the same cat (I was told she was a calico torti, but again, I never actually saw the cat) then yeah no she was just really good at hiding.

The other cat, conversely, was waiting in the entryway every single time I came over and then yelled at me to feed her.
