I'm so proud of how this turned out! I may have gone a bit ham on the textures lol
This art was claimed by platinum_firebird and I am looking forward to reading it! It will be up in the @tolkienrsb 2024 ao3 collection on the 6th of september
Now that everything's posted, here's the art I based my first TRSB fic on this year! I loved the concept of Maedhros and the Silmaril surviving into the 3rd Age and just had to write it! Thanks to timetraveller for your amazing work on this piece! :D

{ ♕ the ruling queens of númenor } → Tar-Ancalimë, Tar-Telperiën and Tar-Vanimeldë were women who ruled the kingdom of Númenor. Out of Númenor’s twenty-five rulers, only three were female, but the existence of Ruling Queens under Númenórean law was remarkable in a society and a world dominated by male rulers. Tar-Míriel was the only child of Tar-Palantir, the twenty-fourth King of Númenor. By the Law of Succession, established by Tar-Aldarion, she should have become the fourth Ruling Queen of Númenor. However, after her father’s death, Míriel’s cousin Pharazôn took her unwillingly as his wife and seized the Sceptre of Númenor for himself, taking the title of Ar-Pharazôn the Golden. He changed Míriel’s name to Ar-Zimraphel.
Thus it is, Ancalimë, and we cannot alter it. For men fashioned Númenor: men, those heroes of old that they sing of; of their women we hear less, save that they wept when their men were slain. Númenor was to be a rest after war. But if they were weary of rest and the plays of peace, soon they will go back to their great play, manslaying and war. Thus it is; and we are set here among them. But we need not assent. If we love Númenor also, let us enjoy it before they ruin it. We also are daughters of the great, and we have wills and courage of our own.
fuck you. and thanks for asking.
