How can the same character be so effective in one venue and so ignored in another? The difference is in the imaginations of writers and editors and yes, audience. The ability to reach out with one’s mind and connect ideas, build new ideas, then build further on the results… that’s imagination in a nutshell. In 1991 marvel comics, imagination was a limited resource. But in 2019 Dreamworks, imagination extends much further. Catra is a genuinely fascinating character but as chance would have it, she is the exact same fundamental character as the X-Men’s Feral. This proves something that I’ve felt for literally decades: I’m right.
