I've always wondered about this, what do you think the Negaduck equivalent to Darkwarrior Duck would be like?
I hate to disappoint, but I don’t actually think there can be a real equivalent of one. Darkwarrior comes from a place where he became obsessed with control because he was hurt from the loss of his daughter. What happens after having such a weakness cripple a person? You try to never let yourself have that weakness again.
While I think it could be argued, in regards of Negaduck’s characterization, that he could possibly have the capability of love... I don’t think he would allow himself to ever get to the point of being broken by such a ‘weakness’. He would rip it out of himself before it could possibly ever be known to those that would want to hurt him. I feel the only similarities between him and Darkwarrior Duck is the want of controlling everyone-- and the fact they are both okay with extreme measures to get that desired outcome.
Darkwarrior Duck is what happens after guilt from not being able to change what happened turns to anger-- rejecting that person from their heart in order to protect themselves. Just like Quiverwing Duck is what happens after guilt turns to sympathy and embracing the ideals of the one lost.
Negaduck is the person he is because he lacks the feeling of guilt. Nega-Gosalyn’s loss to him would mean nothing.
Of course, this all comes from the characterization of Negaduck being an evil ruthless dictator because of sheer enjoyment with no added dimensions-- as I tend to perceive him in canon. But like I stated before, I’m sure there can be an argument against this-- as I’ve seen the fandom tackle numerous times before. I’m merely answering from my own preferences.

Seeing as I love Tuskerninni, this is the opposite of a problem for me. In fact, I want to start with him! But here’s some DWD thoughts coming right attcha~

1: sexuality headcanon: I also think he’s heterosexual aromantic. Or at the very least very romance repulsed. I will admit that the thought of him banging Darkwing while drunk DOES amuse me, but I don’t really see it happening.
2: otp: Malicia. Like, again, not romantic in the slightest... but they have great chemistry and I enjoy seeing your character interact with them.
3: brotp: Negaduck/Chainsaw for life.
4: notp: ... I haven’t the slightest idea.
5: first headcanon that pops into my head: The Negaverse didn’t always exist. The incident with the Tronsplitter was what created the Negaverse and the Posiverse. While the universe did pop into existance one day, the characters still had lives. So only Negaduck (and I suppose those that interact with him and met Darkwing) are aware that they are only one of multiple universes.
Also I think he only cares about Nega-Gosalyn to the extent of ownership. Doesn’t mean I’m against reading fics where he actually cares about her, though! I think it’s an interesting read. I just think as a character Negaduck wasn’t meant to be deep, ya know? He’s bad because he likes to be.
6: one way in which I relate to this character: I... don’t, actually. Well, I do get fed up with people’s annoyances, but doesn’t everybody?
7: thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character: I still can’t believe he wore a diaper. This is a canon thing that has happened.8: cinnamon roll or problematic fave? He’s the definition of problematic.

I don’t think Scrooge is possesive-- I DO think he’s very traditional in the sense that he expects an monagamous relationship and for his partner not to stray. I feel like he’s more trusting of his partners, but once they betray his trusts... he kicks them to the curb. (He is actually deeply hurt, which comes out in an explosive temper.)
As for Negaduck... Negaduck is complicated. Dude isn’t romantic, but he does see people as property... but he also doesn’t care too much... Like he certainly sees Nega-Gosalyn as his in a possessive sense. But relatioship wise he wasn’t very possesive when he was trying to woo Morganna. Because he didn’t care, he just wanted her to come back to being a villain and work for him-- as well as fuck with Darkwing.Typically I think Negaduck doesn’t care unless he’s trying to prove a point.

Frostbite883's Qs: Do you see the GREATEST AMERICAN HERO EVER (!!!) aka Negaduck inspiring the people of St. Canard, especially his adoring fans, to be more brave, caring and helpful than before? If that happened, what would Negaduck's reactions be to St. Canardians being better people because of him?
I can see Negaduck bsing a little-- like him going ‘Yeah, uh... keep eating your brocolli or whatever moms nag you about then you’ll become big and strong...’. But even Negaduck has his limits. THOUGH, in his episode where he pretended to be good for Morgana, he got away with saying a lot of gushy stuff because he said it super sarcastically. Like it makes me imagine Negadukc just constantly going, in a patronizing way, “Yeeeah, SURE, you should TOTALLY go around spreading happiness, rainbows and cheer. I mean, it’s not like it will make you look like a LOSER or anything-- one worthy of instant termination if some DASHINGLY HANDSOME supervillain were to take over this stu-- I MEAN, Greeeeat city!”
“You mean like Dr. Slug?”
“.... Get outta here, kid!”I think anything he tells them he just glares over it and tells himself it’s all for the plan.
One final comment before bed...
I mentioned it the other day in private with @an-anxious-misconception... But we were talking about the concept of Nega-Gizmoduck and i brought up my theory on the Negaverse. So I proposed the idea that what if in the Negaverse it was that Fenton’s sense of justice that was tampered with. Not in the sense of ‘he evil now’ but in the sense of what if he becomes so obsessed with rules and law and order that he loses sight of the justice he was trying to serve. To the point he becomes very much like DarkWarrior Duck. Then you can have Duckburg-- a city of extreme law and order-- next to Saint Canard-- Negaduck’s city of reigning chaos.
On another thought... Has anybody ever come up with the theory that the only reason the Negaverse even exists is because of Megavolt’s tampering with the tron splitter? That there is a posiverse and negaverse now simultaneously existing because of the act? I mostly bring this up because that could be a good way to incorporate why there are two different Negaducks.

In the situation where Negaduck is disguised as a hero? I think Gizmoduck WANTS fellow heroes. He wants pals of justice that he can have comradery with. Thing is, in both the cases of The Masked Mallard (Scrooge from Ducktales) and Darkwing Duck… he was confused and thought the worse because they had a darker image and wasn’t as openly friendly as him. But seeing an AMERICAN HERO, one up there with the likes of Captain America, makes him overjoyed! he WANTS to get closer to this guy! “Say, pal, you must be new around here! How about we team up together some time and I can help show you the ropes?” Which really translates to “WOW, saaay, we should be friends! Best friends, even, how does hanging out around seven sound? Though it can’t be too late, or M’ma will be worried!”As it is.

Negaduck has been seen in the past trying to be good/reformed. We saw what that was like the time he tried tricking Morgana. I feel like his portrayal would be a lot like that. To us, the viewers, coming off as overly sarcastic-- while the people take it genuinely.
Frostbite883 Q: If Negaduck was kidnapped and Darkwing Duck saved him, how would the villain repay him? Would he treat Darkwing respectfully and honorably from here on out? Would he make a permanent truce with the hero (as well as the hero’s families and friends)? …Or would the vill just thanked his alternate universe counterpart for rescuing him and go about doing his own thing again later?
I… can’t see him repaying him back at all. Like, I would think Negaduck is more the type to go ‘I was about to escape on my own before YOU showed up!’ then turn around and try to murder Darkwing. There is no honor among thieves. That, and I’d see Negaduck rubbing it in, you know? Saying how his goody two-shoes heart made him weak, that he SHOULD have just left him there.
Ultimately I just don’t think Negaduck is the type to sincerely thank someone. ESPECIALLY not Darkwing.
There needs to be more Magica/Negaduck shipping in the world. If there was anything to take away from the comics... you know, besides Lady Gaga Darkwing, make Magica/Negaduck a part of your lives. Just both of them using the other, but also flirting with each other from time to time. Yelling screaming, threatening to hurt each other, calling each other all sorts of names, but then when the plan is going right continuously patting each other on the back.
