Then, he reached his bow arm into his sleeve and slid the garment free from his shoulder, exposing his left arm and chest to the open air. Each movement was careful and measured. The precision with which his beauty was arranged gave the impression that his life force was being violently smothered inside him.

He nocked the whistling arrow in place and slowly pulled back the draw. His chest expanded and the tautness in his naked bow arm and shoulder was the only revelation of exertion. Otherwise, his face was utterly composed, his form at ease. The glance at his cheek fluttered.”
