Not many of them apply to hazel! I don’t talk about her a lot but I actually adored her as soon as she was on the screen. My first watch through I actively disliked Simon until the last episode.

I don’t think Simon actually had the ability to change Grace’s memories in her tape--mostly because even Samantha was confused as to how One-One was able to when they were looking at Amelia’s tape.
I think it’s more likely that is what the robot looked like to Grace when she was a child. Like, have you ever revisited a place you haven’t been since you were a kid and everything seems so much smaller than you remember? Even the adults in my life seem bigger in my memories. But revisiting it “in person” as an older teen (I don’t think that you can consider either Grace or Simon adults even if they’re confirmed 18 and not minors, neither of them act like adults/given their upbringing I feel like they also shouldn’t be expected to?) she was able to put it into perspective and her memory changed to reflect that.
I think that Simon’s little fit about her changing it to reflect reality was because he cannot accept that reality isn’t black and white, that people experience the same thing different ways, and that The Truth is flexible and not set in stone.
