“Miss Grant, there’s a call for you from–”

Cat pauses in adjusting her hat and raises an eyebrow in the mirror at her assistant.

“Tell her majesty that I am putting on this event and am uninterested in her opinions regarding the proper etiquette of morning dress, thank you very much, and that I will do as I damn well please.”

Her assistant winces and backs out of the room, and Cat adjusts her hat just a scooch to the right and nods firmly.  

“That’s what I thought,” she says, taking the time to smile at her own reflection, before taking a deep breath and yelling out.  “Assistant, where is my cane?”

Supergirl became a shitty show on season 2 and still is on season 3, and that’s a fact.

I thought they would improve because I was naïve enough to think since everybody makes mistakes, everybody can fix them. But of course, that only happens when one actually WANTS to make things right. However, the Supergirl writers and producers don’t give a shit about it.

They want to create drama, abandoning any possibility of making Supergirl be the way it used to be on season 1. Before, everything was almost perfect.

It’s pretty transparent how Kara and Cat’s dynamic has always been heavily paralleled to the Clark and Lois’ one. Well, every time Cat is shown interacting with Clark she tends to overplay her attraction to him, and this somehow doesn’t break the Supercat/Clois parallel, it makes it stronger. We are finally allowed to see Cat attracted to a younger Kryptonian superhero/reporter, she finally allows herself to show that, but she makes it about someone else and, this way, she sends a message - to herself, to Kara - without really taking any risk, without messing with the balance they have built. She hides behind her attraction to Clark and, at the same time, she rubs it in Kara’s face, waiting for something - a recognition of what’s behind? Jealousy? 

Not a coincidence that all her compliments to Clark could apply to Kara, too.

We already had one example in the season premiere, and now we have Cat talking about big, light-colored eyes and a true nature beyond someone’s glasses.

In this same episode, we receive confirmation that Cat knows Kara is Supergirl; she has probably been knowing since the balcony scene. But then, it’s not believable that Cat made this very specific comment to Kara without thinking - without wanting Kara to think - about their moment, about the one moment when she got a chance to see her favorite superhero taking off her glasses and to see the tiger behind it.
