I know whatever plans they had for Leia and Ben had to be stopped after Carrie's untimely passing.
But if the Original Trilogy was about the sins of the father(prequels about his literal sins) and the son trying to save him.
The Sequels should have been about the mother's failure and the son coming home.
It should have been the antithesis of Anakin leaving Shmi with it ending with Ben coming home and embracing Leia over the dark side.
Honestly, her taking the Skywalker name isn't the part that bothers me… if they had stuck to her being a nobody. If her parents really were just drunks who abandoned her, if it really was just luck of the draw that she was born with the Force, then that moment where she chooses her own destiny could have been really powerful. Where you start doesn't choose who you become, you do.
Instead they ruined it by making her related to Palpatine, so it's just HIS line stealing the Skywalker name after he destroyed all of their lives in his pursuit of power.

Give me an au where Leia arrived to Jabba's palace before Oola's execution. Jabba is so enamored by Leia, that he spares Oola's fate in canon.
aka Leia fulfills Anakin's dream of freeing the slaves of Tatooine in Fury Road styled journey to free herself and the other slaves and giving us Leia/Oola
Leia is caught, enslaved earlier, but she grows a bond with the other slaves and grows close with Oola.
So Leia alters the plan. She convinces the other slaves to break away from Jabba and escape with her. Oola, Greeta, RYstall and Lyn Me are hesitant at first. But after seeing Luke defy Jabba and survive the Rancor. They know it's do or die. But it's not just Luke, something about the Princess inspires them to want to finally get their freedom.
Luke's wacky nonsensical plan goes off and ends the same, BUT. When Leia comes to kill Jabba. All five of them wrap their chains around Jabba and kill them.
They are not slaves anymore.
Leia offers them to take them home or a place in the Rebellion where they can end slavery across the galaxy once the Empire is defeated.
Wherever the others choose, Oola stays by Leia's side and embraces Leia in a kiss

Vader cements himself in the dark side by killing his master. Luke and Vader declares a peace that would last as long as one did not attack the other. The Empire regrouped and retreated into the Unknown Regions under Vader's leadership, while The New Republic is born.

If we ever get a Mandoverse series that has Han, Luke and Leia return. They should have Graham Hamilton play Luke without the CGI/deepfake, Alden Ehrenreich play Han and Ingvild Deila play Leia. With Donald Glover returning as Lando
Also if Mara Jade were to be in this hypothetical series. My suggestion is Léa Seydoux and if Talon Karde is introduced, then Idris Elba or RDJ and if we see Jacen Syndulla, Jacob Trembly, if we see young Ben Solo, Caleb Malis for Ben.
