In an ideal world where Bryan Fuller had the rights to Silence Of The Lambs from the very beginning, this is my ideal outline for Hannibal

  1. Hannibal Season 1:The hunt for the Chesapeake Ripper and ending with Will capturing Hannibal. Season 1 would also feature a therapy session between Hannibal and Benjamin Raspail.
  2. Hannibal Season 2:Adapting Red Dragon
  3. Hannibal Season 3:Adapting Silence Of The Lambs(ideally Jessica Chastain would be Clarice Starling and David Tennant would be Buffalo Bill)
  4. Hannibal Season 4 Adapting Hannibal but with flashbacks to Hannibal Rising(with Mischa and Lady Murasaki) and we would still have Margot and Alana’s romance. But it would end similar to the movie because I cannot believe that Clarice would voluntarily give everything up for Hannibal.
  5. Hannibal season 5. A new story that shows Will and Clarice working together to capturing Hannibal and bringing his reign of terror to an end once and for all

#25.  Jame “Buffalo Bill” Gumb from The Silence Of The Lambs

Biography

Jame (birth certificate misprint of James) Gumb is a fictional serial killer from the movie “The Silence of the Lambs”. Known by the FBI as ‘Buffalo Bill,’ due to an off-colored joke made by an FBI officer, wherein he remarks that Gumb likes to “skin his humps,” as Buffalo Bill stalks females and skins them in an attempt to create a female skin suit. As part of his psycopathy, Gumb believes that he is transexual, though he is denied sexual reassignment surgery because doctors believe him to be too mentally unstable. He is also an active bi-sexual, being the lover of Benjamin Raspail, a patient, and later victim, of Hannibal Lecter. During their relationship, Gumb murders Raspail’s other lover, Klaus, and put his head in a jar with a deaths head moth in his throat. Raspail told Lecter this before he was murdered, information Lecter uses to identify Gumb as “Buffalo Bill”. Throughout the film it is implied that Gumb has murdered more than the nine female victims, in addition to Klaus, and his grandparents, at the young age of fifteen (“just to see what it would feel like”). He is eventually shot dead by FBI agent Clarice Starling whilst stalking her in the dark. He has pet poodle, Precious, who is the only living thing for whom Gumb shows any true affection.

"Well, we tried to get Benjamin Raspail and Jame Gumb in the first season, so that we could tell that story and set up Silence of the Lambs. We tried to work out all manner of deals with MGM, like, 'We'll give you access to use the Hannibal Lecter character in your Silence of the Lambs spinoff show that you're developing, if you give us, or let us rent, Gumb and Raspail. "And their response was, 'Under no circumstances, what's ours is ours and what's yours is yours.' So we can only hope that they either change their mind, or there's a new deal to be had that is mutually beneficial for both studios – something that would make it possible. So I'm going to keep trying on that, at every opportunity. They've already said no to me so many times that I'm not afraid of asking again! "Clarice is such a special character and a very iconic one, both from the literature and especially, in terms of pop culture, from Jodie Foster's fantastic performance. So it would be great to fold her into the Hannibal omelette, but time will tell."
