My problem with Renee Montoya’s portrayal in BOP

My issues with Cassandra are already established. As for Montoya. The way they portrayed Montoya and the GCPD in general felt like they were done dirty. Montoya is one of the most respected cops and one of Gordon's best. And Gordon is nowhere to be seen or even mentioned. Gordon would never stand for blatant misogyny against one of his best detectives. Montoya was a highly valued detective and they just did her dirty just to show a female cop facing misogyny and her partner taking all the credit. This isn’t the character to do it against considering how valued Montoya was by the GCPD in the comics. Montoya left the GCPD in the comics because red tape prevented her from going after her partner's killer, so I think the best way to handle Montoya leaving is for Crispus Allen to be killed by Black Mask and Montoya turns in her badge and leaves to get justice for his murder, which leads Montoya to joining Harley, Dinah and Huntress against Black Mask.

Once again, my worst fears about the Birds Of Prey movie has been realized. The Birds Of Prey themselves are used as sacrificial lambs just to make Harley look heroic. How many FUCKING TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY THIS???? HARLEY QUINN IS A FUCKING VILLAIN!!! There is nothing heroic about her whatsoever. It is canonical that Harley played a part in Jason Todd’s death. There is no way that Dinah, Helena nor Renee would ever willingly trust her. Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya deserves so much fucking better.

Once again we have to endure bad humor that belongs in hot topic and ableist jokes continues as well.

And the worst offense. The ruination of Cassandra Cain. She can speak. She has no one to guide her, no Bruce or Barbara. Cassandra’s muteness has been erased. Worst of all they are making her kill people, albeit accidentally, but they are playing it off as a joke. I was dreading how terrible they would treat Cassandra

This is one DC movie I absolutely refuse to watch.

My problem with Harley in Birds Of Prey

I will never understand the direction they are taking for Harley in Birds Of Prey. It is canon in the DCEU that Harley played a role in Jason Todd’s death. Do you honestly think Huntress would ever play along nicely? Or Black Canary? OR Renee Montoya? A cop who knows Harley best and has arrested her numerous times?  Making the Birds Of Prey secondary characters just to make Harley seem heroic is just bad. Even more so since it seems like Barbara’s role in the Birds Of Prey is erased just so Harley can be in it. And once again, what exactly are they “emancipating” Harley from? They erased every aspect of how toxic and abusive Joker and Harley’s relationship can be in Suicide Squad. Yes he forced her to become Harley in the DCEU(but it is meant to be Harley’s choice, not torture) Joker and Harley’s relationship in SS was out of bad fanfic, yet they show no signs of an abusive relationship. Just what are they emancipating Harley from? And if you expect me to believe Black Mask can overpower the daughter of David Cain and Lady Shiva, I will never take you seriously. If this is just a movie to sell Harley’s “heroism” and downplaying how powerful Cassandra Cain can be and just reducing her to a damsel in distress Harley can rescue to show her being a hero. Harley is not a hero. Cassandra doesn’t need saving and she certainly is not a helpless child who is so easily subdued by BLACK MASK.  And it looks like my favorite member of the Batfamily is a sacrificial stepping stone just to make Harley seem heroic. I am so sick of turning Harley Quinn into the Deadpool of DC. Harley is not a hero nor is she an anti-hero.
