July 14, 1999: Muppets from Space is released, the first Muppet film to feature Pepe!
This might be yet another "This is funny mostly for me and me alone" set of drawings, but I was re-watching Princess Bride and this exchange between Westley and Inigo felt like a pretty natural fit for my Muppet version so I had to draw it out. I'd love to see how they'd handle a Muppet Westley/Inigo sword fight, you could always play it for laughs but it would also be really cool to see it played straight.
Hey there! Your blog really helped my friend write Pepe in her fic and she wanted me to say that she owes the blog her life since it was really helpful! Thanks so much! ❤️
That's awesome to hear!! Glad I could be of service for all their king prawn needs 🫡 He's very fun to write!!
Scrolling through your blog and just wanted to say that I really love your stuff! Pepe deserves way more love. - ⭐
Aww thank you!! I hope I can spread the love for Pepe 🥰 and I'm sending love right back at you!
May 9th is Kermit's birthday!
Happy birthday, Kermit the Frog!!
From Pepe's book It's Hard Out Here for a Shrimp:
March 21, 2014: On this day, Muppets Most Wanted was released in theaters! Pepe gets 5/5 jamón serranos for his performance in "Moves Like Jagger" on the soundtrack:
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! 🍀🤏
I'm eagerly awaiting the follow-up to It's Hard Out Here for a Shrimp
Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤️
(From a set of Muppets Tonight Valentine cards, released in 1997)
The noisemaker taped to Pepe’s head is my favorite part of this video. Happy New Year everyone!! 🎉
Pepe's 2005 appearance on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, in which they share a pipe and sing a duet of "We Wish You a Merry Christmas"
December 17, 2008: A Muppets Christmas: Letters to Santa first aired! In it, Pepe travels to the North Pole and learns important lessons about not being too macho to believe in Santa, all while wearing the coziest little hat imaginable.
December 2, 2009: At the lighting of the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center, the Muppets sing “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” (and argue about Cinco de Mayo food vs. Christmas food)
Pre-orders for the Muppet Pride Zine "The Lovers, The Dreamers, & You" are NOW OPEN! 🥳
This zine showcases the work of 64 artists and 10 writers, with all profits going to two LGBT charities. I'm so proud that I got to be a part of this project as a writer! So much work and love went into making this zine. Pre-orders open from now until January 1st!
November 28, 2013: Lady Gaga & the Muppets’ Holiday Spectacular first aired. Four hands, no waiting!
So this is a bit outside of my usual prawnposting, but as a queer Muppet fan, I want to share a project that I've been honored to be a part of for the past few months. It's The Muppet Pride Zine: The Lovers, The Dreamers, and You! Yaaaaay!! *happy Kermit flails* And pre-orders are opening December 1st!!
This zine showcases the work of 64 artists and 10 writers, with all proceeds going to LGBT charities. I contributed as a writer, and (since I'm not just obsessed with Spanish prawns, but with 50-year-old stoner musicians as well) I wrote a Zoot/Lips fic that takes place during the Muppet Show era. It's called "B-Natural," and here's the summary:
Zoot has always expressed himself through his sax rather than words, so when an incomprehensible trumpeter joins the band, the only way they can communicate with each other is through their music. But this leads to them forming a deeper connection than either of them would've thought.
And I'm able to share a snippet of the fic too!
I'm really proud of the work I did on this, and I'm blown away by all the talent contained in this zine. This is something you won't want to miss! I'll be sure to post more info when pre-orders open. In the meantime, please spread the word!
